The world's latest paddling headlines.
Kokatat Blog Land of the Thunder Dragon: Bhutan Kayak Expedition
Kokatat Blog - Extreme kayaker Gerry Moffatt sends a video dispatch from the Bhutan Kayak Expedition.
Dagger Blogs The Purely Theoretical...
Dagger Blogs - I think about kayaking. A LOT. One of my favourite things about our sport is the process of applying knowledge, skill, and fitness to a particular rapid, and coming up with a theory of how it should be run. We then apply this theory to the rapid to the best of our abilities, and hopefully create a line for ourselves to run smoothly.
Southernfairies Chile We Arive in Pucon
Southernfairies Chile - We have now arrived in Pucon, and after spending a few days sorting out somewhere to stay we found a small house in the outskirts of the town. We started off with a nice chilled out run down the Lower Liucura after looking at the Upper Palguin and deciding that we were far too hung over.
Mt. Hood H2O November
Mt. Hood H2O - November is the best month for boating in Oregon in my opinion. That is because all the hunting gates are open and the snow hasn't blocked access to high elevations runs. This means I get to see some new runs without having to hike for them. This year we got on a few really fun sections and I felt we took advantage of the opportunities presented.
Fat Paddler Colo River Flood and a Horse Rescue by Canoes
Fat Paddler - Adventure comes when you least expect it…. unless of course you go looking for it! Gelo and I had organised a canoe session with a couple of fellas experienced in white-water canoing, and had travelled up to the Upper Colo River to witness some flooding that had happened during the week. The river usually sits around 1 metre deep, but the flood waters had passed 10 metres in depth by the time we ventured up there.
Have Kayaks, Will Travel A midwinter day's paddle
Have Kayaks, Will Travel - As winter settles in, opportunities to paddle on Lake Michigan gain a certain urgency. Perhaps it's because we don't know how much longer we'll have safe access to water in its liquid state; perhaps it's because once we get out of the habit of bundling up and venturing out on bitter cold days, we'll find it easier to make excuses for staying indoors.
SW Sea Kayaking CKUK do the SWSKM
SW Sea Kayaking - The article which Canoe Kayak UK featured about the 2010 South West Sea Kayaking Meet is now available to read online.
RJimlad, New South Wales Klanocopia
RJimlad, New South Wales - So it's been ages since I posted. It's not like I've done nothing. The Hunter Kayak Klan is my main project now and I have achieved everything I wanted to achieve with it. Well, not quite. The Klan is gaining not just in strength of numbers but in strength of paddling. We were once rank beginners with beginner boats and kit. Now we are seafaring kayakers with a reputation in our locale of awesomeness. I recently paddled on Lake Macquarie and crossed paths with some other paddlers.
