Gene17 Advanced WWS&R November 2010
Gene17 - On a wet November morning a group of 4 met at the River Dart Country Park to begin the 2-day Advanced White Water and Safety Course being run by Simon. The morning started by recapping the standard course on dry land – this included a discussion on the various items of kit we were carrying, throwline practice and the merits of various mechanical advantage techniques.
Kokatat Blog Circumnavigation of Ireland 2010
Kokatat Blog - Sonja and Eila's circumnavigation of Ireland this year was partial success. They set out from Bulloch Harbour just south of Dublin on 12th May, and paddled together for approximately 20 days. Sonja had struggled with a stomach bug for several days and could not go on. They camped for two days on an off shore uninhabited island, hoping that Sonja would get well enough to continue, but sadly it was not to be.
Jake Ament Expedition Ecuador: Christmas in January
Jake Ament - Christmas is only a few weeks away. However, this year my real present won't come until mid-January. This year my most anticipated present comes courtesy of my friend Abraham Herrera. I met Abe while we were taking our ACA instructors course in West Virginia this summer. We got along very well and he has quickly become one of my favorite people hang-out with on and off the water..
Imagine Surf Blog Sup world cup finals day 1
Imagine Surf Blog - Today was Day 1 of the World SUP cup finals, and we started with the try outs to get through to the finals. The level is really high and I was rather nervous, but ended up winning my heat on my new "Enigma" with a generous margin, so I was stoked on that. All kinds of styles, from short board influenced to longboard style, making it hard for the judges for sure. The ladies did well, with Donica Souce getting even score with Candice on the new Body Glove "Thrust".
Fat Paddler Kayak Rolling – It's All About Practice
Fat Paddler - I got out for a paddle today with Nat, one of my oldest and closest friends, a mate I met at university when I was 21 and have remained friends with ever since. We've shared houses together, played rugby together, and moved to different cities together. I was incredibly excited when he told me he was thinking of getting into ski paddling after reading my Epic V8 ski review.
SUP HQ Primi Naish Race Series wrap
SUP HQ - The Primi Naish SUP race series of 2010 has crowned the first national South African SUP racing champion!
A whole bunch of Ing's Holden lake, hanging out with a mink, and the Dumoine river
A whole bunch of Ing's - I was up before the sun rose. Which is kinda weird as I'm dead tired from this flu still lingering. Plan was to launch as soon as I got my morning coffee down range. Soon however I was curled up on the couch watching the snow fall out my window, morning coffee turned to coffee morning.
SeaKayakPhoto.com Sundown at Culzean
SeaKayakPhoto.com - South of Dunure, Turnberry lighthouse appeared on the horizon.
