WaveSport: Wave Sport Announces Paddle-It-Forward Program
From April 1, 2009 through August 31, 2009, Wave Sport (a Confluence Watersports brand) will roll out a brand new program designed to support local organizations, introduce more people to paddling and establish a platform for a long-term sustainability initiative.
Roaring Fork Kayakers: The Best Of Chile 2008
Well I figured I would do one update with a bunch of the best photos from our trip to Chile. I didnt realize how many amazing photos we had. Image above - Jess Brown makes ready to fly on route into the Hokitika. Last week was a good one! After my 65 day stint in the southern ocean I was hanging out to go creeking! The transition from sea kayak to creek boat is always a good one! Things happen fast, the moves feel good and drops get the blood flowing.

Small World Adventures: Small World Adventures, Kayak Ecuador
We had a big group this week split between a Mucha Agua trip and a Torrents trip. There was a group of friends from Colorado and Vermont, and then the rest of the 2 groups was made up of people from Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, and Virginia. So all and all we had a very geographically diverse group.

There was one more river I managed to get on whilst up in the far north. This one was in the guidebook, and required a walk in, but didn't offer up as much as the previous run. Go out and explore; there's still stuff out there on your doorstep.

With Rock Island running at 1 generator for a month straight, it became the perfect time to head north for some kayaking action! I planned my around some of our fantastic Jackson Kayak Dealers, so that I could visit with them along the way.

While technically Lees Ferry is not in the Grand Canyon proper (It's in Marble Canyon), most river maps show Lees Ferry as mile 0 for the 226 mile trip to Diamond Creek, where most rafters take-out.

Sebago Canoe Club: Jones Beach, Febryary 21, 2009
Six hearty paddlers from the Sebago Canoe Club paddled at Jones Beach on Saturday, February 21, 2009, in search of the elusive seal. Led by Tony and Walter, also on the trip were Dottie, Mary, Bonnie and John. The six put in around 11:30 AM and immediately encountered a strong head wind with one to two foot standing waves.

The swell had got up with the rise in tide during our lunch break on Scarp. There were several assisted launches. I was last off the beach but the steep sand meant I got my spray deck on while dry then pushed myself down the slope.We now followed scudding clouds down the Caolas an Scarp.

Jackson Kayak: NOC Dynamic Duo stop turns into a fun paddle day!
When we woke up we headed over to the NOC store and showed off the Dynamic Duo to them. It was their first visual on it and everyone took turns getting in the front, back, and pretending to paddle it. Robert Boone, the buyer at the store got fired up to paddle it and told me the Upper Nanty was running, otherwise known as the Cascades.
