"The motivation for the trip was to return to an old favorite of the big-water Siang River and to complete another first descent in Arunachal Pradesh on the Siyom River," summarizes Korbulic. "Arunachal is a wonderland of rivers and first descents, still almost completely dam-free and pretty wild-feeling but still very welcoming. It may be our favorite place in the world to paddle." Freestyle Big Trick Gladiator Wave Jackson Kayak - 35 paddlers (27 men and 7 women) competed today on Gladiator Wave. The Ottawa Valley gave us a wonderful spring day with Sunny weather and high of 55 degrees. The format for today's competition was fun, and an all day event. Kayaker Robin Dunham and I paddled along the East shore of Skaha Lake to see what the damages remaining looked like and the progress of the homeowners had made in rebuilding their docks. Exploring Mexico SUP style! worldkayak blogs - It's hard to tell if the sport of whitewater SUP is growing or not.  I spend half the year in Mexico and for the past five years there have only been a handful of us paddling SUP.  Lately we have been exploring new runs with new equipment.  Brands like NRS, Glide SUP, Hala Gear and Corran SUP have been helping us pave the way for new and exciting warm water paddling. Clackamas River Drainage Lower Eagle Creek PDX River Explorers - Eagle Creek is a tributary of the Lower Clackamas River, it confluences with the Clackamas between Milo McIver and Barton Parks. It's about 45 mins SE of Portland and until this Winter I had never been down the lower stretch of Eagle Creek. Athleta - Apparel Model Not Wearing a PFD Durhamblogger - On page 15 of the April 2014 Athleta catalog, one finds this attractive model (nice teeth!) paddling an outrigger canoe. Unfortunately, she is minus a PFD! Here we go again. I get it. Athleta, that sports the marketing subtitle .Power to the she is interested in showing off their performance / swimming apparel on beautiful bodies... and wearing a PFD will cover up too much. Going The Distance for Paddlesports Education ACA - Since the launch of the Expansion of On-Water Paddlesport Instruction grant project in September 2013, we have worked in Hawaii, Oregon, California, Florida, Alabama, Texas, and Puerto Rico. Who Is Who in Team Gb 2014 – Isa Worlds SUPboarder - It's not long to go now until Team GB will be heading out to South America for the ISA Worlds in Nicaragua. The ISA World StandUp Paddle (SUP) and Paddle board Championships (WSUPPC) will be held between the 3rd -11th May 2014. The surf side of the competition will be held at La Boquita, and the flat water /distance competitions will be held on Lake Nicaragua. Extended Tongue Mini-Kayak Trailer Completed fishyaker.com - For Christmas, I picked up a 4×6 utility trailer from Tractor Supply. I added a couple Thule bars, a pair of Malone Seawings, and a pair of Malone J cradles. My next chore was to extend the length of the tongue, to give me plenty of turning clearance between the car and kayaks.

News Watch Headlines Summer of Rehab Jackson Kayak - Since the Australian Open in Jan I have spent a lot of time out of the boat and off the river. In October I got a tendonitis that was pretty bad in my wrist. A side effect of paddling a lot for the last 14 years. With some great treatment and some injections into it I was able to race selection in January and secure 1st boat on the NZ team, thankfully, as there isn't a Pre-Selection basis on medical grounds. Adventurer completes ninth 1,000-mile journey GrindTV On-Water - This is Cornthwaite incredible story of how his life got changed when he took a leap in his 25th birthday. His life is adventurous and happy. He has got more than he bargained because of his leap, read his experiences here and feel the warmth and beauty of life. Cornthwaite has covered more than 17,000 miles via skateboard, kayak, tandem bike, stand-up paddleboard, sailboat, bikecar, swimming, Elliptigo, and a Whike. He encourages us to be ambitious and adventurous in our lives too, that would make us better and more satisfied individuals. Tame the Savage Beast YakAngler - I don't know if anyone else ever gets grumpy when they can't fish. Maybe I am just a freak of nature and stand alone in this. I am not talking about a little sideways or a lower lip poked out; I am talking about full on pee pee in your coffee grumpy. Walleye Fest On The Detroit River YakAngler - The winter that would never end is over, and the walleye have entered the river. For the past week or so, anglers have been landing trophy walleye - males and females - in sizes and numbers not seen in years. The 2003 hatch have matured to double-figure weights and 30". The water temperatures are in the mid to low forties and the walleye have started to feed. Abu Dhabi: World Series Race Lina Augaitis - Here is an account of a paddler who participated in the Abu Dhabi World series race. She faced difficulties in plane travelling from Vancouver to Abu Dhabi carrying her SUP board. Next, add to that she was also unwell. When she unpacked her board she found it got cracks. This spite all this she managed to come first overall in her very first World Series race. Being positive works, that's how she managed it all… Getting Ready for the Reno River Festival Jackson Kayak -  It's that time of year! The Reno River Festival is just around the corner and the Reno Whitewater Park is primed to deliver a great festival. Even though the Sierra Nevada Mountains have a low snowpack, the Reno Whitewater Park was designed to have features you can play in no matter how low the water is! Hole 5 in the North channel is one of the best play features year round, and you can loop, McNasty, Spacegodzilla and Phonix Monkey to your hearts content! Carolina Cup Fantasy Sup SUPracer - We're less than 48 hours away from one of the stand up paddling events of the year: The Carolina Cup at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina is happening this Saturday and looks set to be one of the single biggest races of 2014. Redfish on Fire Tampa Bay Kayak Charters - With tarpon season along the beaches winding down I've been focusing more of my efforts on redfish. I've been finding redfish in groups of 5 to several 100, especially during the lower evening tides created by the new and full moon. Boardworks Team Rider Josh Gordon Chosen ... Boardworks SUP - A huge Congratulations goes out to Boardworks Team Rider Josh Gordon. He has been chosen to represent Canada at the ISA SUP World Championships in Nicaragua.
