Tavares has been with Boardworks working in many facets over the past three years and will add team manager to his list of titles. Day 6 in the Canyon with Liquidlogic: Big Water in the Remix XP and Stinger XP Shane's Logic - The annual Liquidlogic trip through the Grand Canyon was a dream of Boyce and Woody's. The Big Blue Paddle – Part 3 SUP Magazine - On December 26, 2013, two Aussies set off on a 30-day, 917-kilometer (approximately 570-mile) SUP expedition. Paddling to promote healthy living, Michael Leith and Tony Miller-Greenman took off from Brisbane and made the long journey to Sydney's Bondi Beach. Warm Winter Paddling, Part 3 Pawistik - An unusual weather pattern settled over the prairies last week. In the wake of the much-hyped "polar vortex" that brought very cold temperatures to much of the USA (i.e. the jet stream pushed cold northern air southward - sounds like "winter"), we had a week of unseasonably warm weather. We didn't want to do a long paddle; this was more of a work out the kinks paddle, both in our gear and ourselves. We've been off the water for a few months, and have had a pretty lazy winter so far, so we wanted to go slow and easy the first time out. January 26th - Race Rocks Mike Jackson - Dan, Dennis, George and I gathered at 0730 at Killarney Kayak Base to load up the truck with our 4 kayaks and head out to Pedder Bay. We were on the water just before 9 and out at Race Rocks by 10. It was pretty foggy when we started, but it was lifting as we paddled out. By the time we left Rocky Point we could easily see the lighthouse. Fox unbeatable at Penrith ICF - Olympic silver medalist Jessica Fox has continued her blistering start to 2014, adding the K1W and C1W Australian Open titles to the National titles she recorded on Friday and Saturday. VFishing for Zander From Kayak Jackson Kayak - This is what we do here in autumn and winter. We fish for zander, a mysterious predator, very similar to the american walleye. Fishing for zanders is tough, they feed only at certain times and they are very picky. Colour, size and presentation of the bait always have to be just right. Well done Paul Jackson @ New Zealand Champs Fanatic SUP - Paul Jackson has competed @ the New Zealand Champs last weekend winning the BOP Race 12´6 and finishing 2nd in the 12´6 Long Distance Race! Well done there. In This Year YakAngler - I'm not much of a writer as some can tell. I don't punctuate properly, or even know how to spell very well. My sentence structure really is deplorable as well. Having said this, I think I am going to try and get on this blog thing at least once a month this year. Peabody Museum - Green Bladed Decorated Paddle Paddle Making - Superb blogger of Indigenous Boats, Bob Holtzman, has posted some personal photos of canoe-related exhibits at Harvard University's Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology.
