News Watch Headlines Dublin Bay SUP Classic 2014 SUPboarder - On 24th – 25th of May hundreds of paddle boarders, kiters and more descended upon Dollymount Beach, on the outskirts of Dublin, for the annual 'Battle for the Bay.' Now in its eighth year, the Battle attracts competitors from far and wide, for a whole host of activities on and off the water including boarder cross racing for the kiters and, more importantly, the Dublin Bay SUP Classic. The SUP Classic consisted of three disciplines: a survivor series, a distance race and finally a sprint race. It was SUPboarder team rider Peter Kosinski, fresh from his victory at the Battle of the Thames, that again showed why he is already a force to be reckoned with in the world of SUP racing... Far Beach to Round Top Rod Swan - It has been a long time since I have posted, so here is a quick one to maybe get me started again. Derek and I decided quite late yesterday arvo to go for a paddle this morning. So we met at Far Beach the end of Petrie Street in Mackay for a 7:00am start. I think this must be Derek's favorite paddling spot. After working at the store for nearly 3 weeks straight, this 3-day trip on the river with a group of friends was a very welcome chance to decompress after a hectic spring sale.

Urban Kayaking Freestyle Move, Set to Street Musicians… Jackson Kayak - Dominion River Rock Festival put on by the "Sports Backers" of Richmond, VA (Jon Lugbill, for those who remember this slalom legend), was another huge success with 100,000 people in attendance over two days and epic weather and water…  While warming up for the Freestyle event, I found two train bridge pilings that were only about 15 feet apart and the current lead from one to another.    I was able to do a front loop into a splat on the first bridge and the current took me off to the left ... Paddlers unite to Paddle For The Planet ICF - This weekend paddlers from all disciplines around the world will unite in support of World Environment Day on Sunday 1 June as they join the Paddle For The Planet Global Paddling Relay. The relay runs with simultaneous paddling events starting sequentially, on the same day, at the same time, in every time zone, in each country around the world thereby creating a global relay. Paddlers of any type of paddling craft are united through the Global Paddling Relay. Tulum SUP Yoga & Freediving Adventures Paddle Into Fitness - Tulum is a magical place full of adventures in the Mayan Riviera – free diving, SUP Yoga in Lagoons, exploring Cenotes (underwater caves), paddling to Mayan ruins, and snorkeling with sea turtles. Battle Of The Thames Takes Over London Naish - The team from Naish UK was present with the Naish/Blue Mile NISCO race team to help raise money for the Marine Conservation Society.
