Wave of Wellness 3rd Annual Lake Mary Jane Paddle Race Recap by Jeramie Vaine
Wave of Wellness - 46 degrees and brisk winds out of the North is far from the norm in Central Florida, actually it is a bit of an anomaly. But this arctic cold front, yes arctic since today is 80 and that is the average temperature this time of year, did not stop 80 paddlers from attending the 3rd Annual Lake Mary Jane Paddle Race in Orlando Florida.
Trash Paddler One Mo' Time
Trash Paddler - Yet another mild day and things being slow at work conspired in allowing me to get one more paddle in before year's end.
SUP Magazine South Florida'S Best Kept Secret
SUP Magazine - Through the dark estuary waters, it appeared as if a constellation was being reflected off of the surface, somehow visible in the daytime sky. But the heavenly white polka dots below were actually studding the brown, diamond-shaped body of a ray that undulated away from where I'd dipped my paddle into the water.
SUP Radio Show It's Late And The Ball Is About To Drop
SUP Radio Show - It's Late. It's Late and there is only one minute left before the ball drops on another year. Kokatat Blog The holidays are here and so came the rain and warm temps
Kokatat Blog - I don't remember a Christmas week so warm and with so many opportunities for boating! Most, if not all of the creeks in the mountains are snowed in pretty heavy as well as locked in with ice. Here in central Maine we're sitting pretty with temps in the 30s and 40s, rivers clear of ice - at least 2 out of the 3 days I got were ice free.
Tony Paradise Top Paddles of 2014 - 7
Tony Paradise - My number 7 top paddle of the year was a cape rounding. Capes are usually active areas and on August 24th Cape St. Francis lived up to the billing. Dean, Des and I met in Pouch Cove to drop the boats and then made the short car shuttle to the other side of the peninsula at Bauline.

Chris Baer All That Glitters Is Not Gold, Nam Lik and Nam Siam
Chris Baer - International exploratory kayaking is exactly what it's cracked up to be difficult. Usually it starts as speculation, "Have you seen the gradient in Asia?" Then hours of probing topographical maps ensue. This usually creates a scratch pad full of river and village names that are impossible to pronounce.
Corran SUP 2015 Combat proto
Corran SUP - We have long been believers in hard shell boards for use in whitewater. The ability to create refined shapes, with changing rail design through the length of the board, specific rockers and subtle hull shapes and deck contours, combined with a stiff shell that doesn't reverberate when hitting waves, creates a board that is significantly easier to paddle than any inflatable shape – all other things being equal.
