Jackson Kayak Destination: Grand Canyon
Jackson Kayak (Friday 30th) *** - Every winter I start thinking of being on the Grand Canyon, at first tentatively and then as the weeks fly by, with more and more intensity until the urge to go back becomes all encompassing. Every spring and summer since 1976 I make the reverse migration to the Canyon, guided by an internal GPS so strong and true I only have to plug the word "home" into it, for the Grand is as much my home as Coloma California is.
New River Academy Tips From the Top!
New River Academy (Monday 2nd) ** - What we thought was going to be a normal day in Pucon, turned out to end with a big surprise. After classes got out, we were informed that not only would we be running one of the best creeks in the area, but we would also be guest coached by one of the best creek boaters in the world! After a brief tutorial on how to brown claw from Evan Garcia, ...
Louise Jull Kaimai Creeking!
Louise Jull (Tuesday 3rd) ** - Unfortunately not every day on the river is a good one. For me the New Year was celebrated in good company with many of my friends from here in Okere Falls at Soph's bach in Ohope.
Team Pyranha Shiva Vs Burn – A comparison
Team Pyranha (Sunday 1st) ** - As a committed long-term addict to the Burn / Everest series of boats I had mixed feelings when I heard that Pyranha were developing a new large boat. These feelings were compounded when I paddled the first prototype in North Wales, the boat just didn't feel right, more like a creek boat from a decade ago, something you fall down the river in, rather than cruise downriver in.
Immersion Research Outfitting Tips for your Kayak
Immersion Research (Monday 2nd) ** - Good outfitting will allow you to be "one with your boat". This should lead to better control, comfort and you won't need to use as much energy to move the boat around. I'm guilty of spending too much time on outfitting my boats, so I thought I may as well share some of my techniques.
Werner Werner Team paddler, Dave Fusilli's fun video and stories of white water past.
Werner (Friday 30th) ** - Post Uganda and 2011 Pyranha Van tour, Werner's own Dave Fusilli is hanging at home in Clarion Pa with travel companion, and our friend, Craig Kleckner for the Holidays.  Padling has been a way of life for Dave since he was grom and he always speaks highly of how he owes his Mom and Dad for his love for paddling.
unsponsored Improve Your Showboating
unsponsored (Monday 2nd) ** - Note: This will make you better than Corran Addison or Jay Kincaid, or your money back. Just follow the instructions. 1: Don't stick just to moving water. If you can't master the move in the hole, move back to the canal, grab a squirt boat, and practice your technique on the flat.
Sweet Christmas days in Argentina
Sweet (Thursday 29th) * - I've been travelling with my good friend Aniol for three months now. He was leaving to Futaleufu to work and make some money, so the last trip we did together was from Pucon in Chile to Bariloche in Argentina, to paddle two of the most beatiful rivers in the world: Rio Manso and Rio Blanco/Rio Ojo. I saw footage of these rivers on the Bomb Flow episode this summer, and decided that thats it, I'm going there! So when the sky turned blue and the water levels were perfect, we were the happiest crew ever!
Louise Jull Wild Wild West!
Louise Jull (Monday 2nd) * - The West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand is a well known kayaking mecca! A few weeks ago I decided it was time to step it up and get some solid boating in and I knew the West Coast would provide. Benjamen Hjort of Norway happened to be in town ...
Wavesport Blogs The Classic of all Classics - Mastigouche River, QC
Wavesport Blogs (Sunday 1st) * - The Mastigouche River in Quebec is a must do on any paddlers wish list. It was on the top of my good friend Simon Davidson's list of rivers to paddle while over in Quebec this past spring.
Have Kayaks, Will Travel How to become a better paddler
Have Kayaks, Will Travel (Friday 30th) * - No matter what your passion, there's a point at which you're likely to plateau. That may be OK; perhaps you've become proficient enough to accomplish everything you desire. But for those who are dedicated to continued improvement and have ambitions as coaches, expeditioners or higher-level paddlers,...
NW Rivers Seek and you shall find
NW Rivers (Friday 30th) * - Kayaking is very much an individual sport. By that I mean that the richness of the experience allows each person to create their own type of meaning and purpose. The myriad of reasons why people enjoy kayaking are as varied as our personalities and change throughout our lives. Many people enjoy the outdoor exercise, while others value a Class 5 … Continue reading →
CKS Blog Boardworks Badfish MCIT Review with Aaron and Matthew Koch
CKS Blog (Saturday 31st) * - Boardworks Badfish MCIT Review with Aaron and Matthew Koch. My brother and I took the MCIT for a spin on our local class 2 creek and found it to be a great SUP vehicle. I used it for several bomb drops, which I couldn't do with the heavy plastic boards, and ...
Imagine Surf G Mac surfs Pipeline on a PLASTIC board
Imagine Surf (Thursday 29th) * - Garrett McNamara is easily one of the worlds most extreme surfers and waterman. Just last month he took the world record for surfing the biggest wave ever surfed – 90′ in Portugal. Then, on his return to Hawaii, he decided to take our plastic stand up surfing board into the North Shores...
ibaietan Patagonia Without Dams
ibaietan (Thursday 29th) * - Here are some of the best pictures from my trip and also a movie I made. I'll keep kayaking, going more to south of Chile, crossing by Argentina. Almost all the rivers I paddle are in dam projects, so this is the reason for the name of my movie.
