Photographing Whitewater Wildlife ~ Pure Joy Amongst Pure Hate

Playak Weekly Digest
The world's top paddling links in week 48, 2013.
Jackson Kayak Photographing Whitewater Wildlife
Jackson Kayak - If anyone knows anything about me, it is that I love to spend time behind the camera. One real passion of mine has been photographing kayak anglers throughout the day to show just how awesome our sport is. I also love the wildlife I get to encounter on the water and if conditions permit, I love to photo it as well.
Werner Rigged and Ready to Fish. Chocolate Bay, Texas.
Werner - Kayak Fishing YouTuber, Rex Del Rey, shares his passion for kayak fishing with his good friend, who snapped this photo at Chocolate Bay, TX. They are fishing from KC Kayaks rigged out with high position boat seats, so they're paddling 240 cm Camano and Skagit CF paddles for extra reach.
Mt. Hood H2O Pure Joy Amongst Pure Hate
Mt. Hood H2O - I had never been particularly interested in the run until Lucas Glick and I were riding on a speedboat with kayaks in tow across Green Peter Reservoir. We had just paddled off the Middle Santiam Wilderness section and found we were going to get to our cars with plenty of light left.
Playak Sawyer Photo Contest
Playak - Enter a photo for a chance to win Sawyer Bucks just in time for the Holidays.
unsponsored An Untitled Mediocre Short Kayak Film
unsponsored - I recently made a film I hope you will enjoy! It demonstrates what can be achieved with some commitment and 1 year in the paddling community. This film revolves around a group of paddlers who met in university and have completely got the bug.
Corran SUP Crowd Funded SUP Board
Corran SUP - Corran has an exciting idea for manufacturing a SUP board that can be attached through parts. One piece is 3' and a 9' board can be made attaching three parts together. If you want a longer 12' board then you can attach an additional piece in the center and lengthen it. This board would fit inside your travel bag, your small car and you can transport them on planes easily as it can fit into travel bag like inflatables do. Just go, to the link mentioned and find out about their project. If you support the project, you can fund them.
Jackson Kayak Sweet Tea, Rapids, and Musky
Jackson Kayak - Recently I had the opportunity to meet and fish with many of my Jackson Kayak teammates and some of our awesome dealers out at the annual dealer's summit in Rock Island, Tennessee. Prior to arriving in Tennessee, I met up with Jameson Redding in Pensacola to fish the Gulf Coast for my first time.
Playak Jackson Kayak Karma M
Playak - Jackson Kayak's Fourth Generation Creek Boat over the past 9 years takes leaps and bounds forward. The Karma takes a hard turn towards stability, carving ability and its sister: The Zen's, speed. This boat is fast, stable, and forgiving, with predictable turning, boofing, and a bow that rises over anything in its way.
Jackson Kayak Mike Dawson Uses The Karma in Africa
Jackson Kayak - Last month I was able to head off into the Africian wilderness and test out my new Karma creek boat. We loaded up the boats and caught a flight into Uganda home of the Nile River.
Jackson Kayak Rodger'S Dream
Jackson Kayak - Shortly after I started taking photographs I had one poster in my. It was a picture of Rodgers Creek by Charie Munsey. I learned a lot about lighting from looking at that one photograph, and it put Rodgers Creek high on my list of places to see some day.
YakAngler Stupid Is as Stupid Does
YakAngler - I always find it satisfying when criminals get caught and find it even more satisfying when criminals get caught by their own stupidity! Meet Louis Castro, a 30 year old Texas resident who loves fishing and sharing photos of himself on Facebook.
PaddleBlogs Diary of a Middle Aged Kayaker
PaddleBlogs - 2013 has been an amazing slalom season. I've achieved much of what I set out to do and really enjoyed myself along the way. My first slalom career lasted from 1978 to 1990, so I feel immensely appreciative that I'm able to have a second crack at this brilliant sport.
Werner Werner Paddles Pro-Staff, William Ragulsky, Hooks Into and Lands a Monster Cobia.
Werner - At it again, with fellow WernerPaddles Pro-Staff Rob Choi along side, William Ragulsky landed a monster 61 1/4 pound Cobia off the Virginia coast. William has been a great addition to the family this season and we look forward to a great year in 2014 as he helps us promote the sport of kayak fishing, the Werner story and our great paddling paddles, including the new Hooked line up.
Sportscene Brazil Wins Men'S Open, But New Zealand Shines on Final Day
Sportscene - The spectacular Down River climax to the World Rafting Championships in Rotorua today (Sunday) saw Brazil confirmed as the best men's rafting crew in the world, but local river expertise saw New Zealand crews excel to lock out the overall gold medals in the Women's Open and Men's and Women's Masters categories.
SquareRock November Whitewater Tour
SquareRock - I have just got back home to Cornwall after a great ten day paddling trip. It all started off with a trip up to Squarerock HQ to pick up my new Jackson Kayak 2014 Rockstar and it would have been rude not to have a quick blast round Lee Valley to try it out.
