Wavesport Blogs How to Flip Turn
Wavesport Blogs (Sunday 14th) ** - Oh how I love to Helix but I also really love to Flip Turn. Here's some input on how to Flip Turn which is such a cool feeling when you get one! Definition: Rotation of over 90° at a horizontal angle followed by a rotation with a vertical angle over 45° on the stern in one fluid motion. This is a green water, aerial maneuver. The boat must land in a front surf within 45° horizontal angle range ...

LL Ladies Lounge The Elusive Left Line
LL Ladies Lounge (Monday 15th) ** - Ok so I did tell everyone that I would do my next blog post on South Silver but I got a request to do a post on the Elusive left line of Sunshine. So here it is. I've been running the left line for a few years now with many different variations of the line. I started in a long boat and then slowly ...
Whitewater-Koa "We're leaving tonight for Upper Cherry!!"
Whitewater-Koa (Monday 15th) ** - Sometimes things don't go exactly to plan. I had such good intentions to get back into kayaking in an orderly fashion after my surgery in January. The Dr said 3 months till flat water then another 3 till I could start getting on some rapids and building up from there. The first 3 months went past and i went kayaking on flat water for the first time which felt good.

Werner Even the world's best have bad days on the river. Team paddler Dave Fusilli loses some gear.
Werner (Saturday 13th) ** - In one day of running the Crystal Gorge in CO, with fellow Team paddler Nicole Mansfield, our hero Dave Fusilli lost his carbon Powerhouse, his throw bag and his Pyranha Burn!  Words by Dave Fusilli-"So I was letting some folks demo my Burn on the river, we were all swapping out above drops. Well one guy swims and in the process my throwbag washes out ...
Sweet Norway 2011 Wrap up
Sweet (Tuesday 16th) * - It's been a lot of up and down this season. It all started really good with an early spring with rivers flooding all over the country and we ran some really good waterfalls, shooting pictures together with the Friflyt magazine. The next 4-6 weeks were again really dry due to cold weather and my back was bad after boofing Spånemsfossen in Telemark. Then the summer came and it was time to chase waterfalls all over the country again.
Jackson Kayak Best of The Bitterroot - and The Bitteroot Creek Race
Jackson Kayak (Thursday 18th) * - Located in the Bitterroot valley is some of the best whitewater in Western Montana. There are two creeks in particular that draw attention, the Kootenai creek and Bear creek. This summer we had our annual Best of the Bitterroot creek races down these rocky creeks. Due to high water the race dates were pushed back week after week and were finally held a month after the original planned dates. The Kootenai creek race was held first and after enough people showed up to have it, it was literally off to the races.
Ruth Gordon Road Tripping – Random Encounters with 'The Law' 1
Ruth Gordon (Saturday 13th) * - Sharing road tripping stories is a favorite past time of kayakers around the world. At a recent Canadian campfire I was reminded of two random encounters I've had with 'The Law' since I began kayaking. The first was early in my life as a kayaker. I was driving a beat up old VW Jetta and although it began its life a nice shade of white it was definitely more of a solid rust color by the time it was in my possession (a kayaker does not complain about hand me down cars).

If you are lucky enough to win one of the coveted spots get ready to learn all of the lines and play spots that the Gauley has to offer.

LiquidLore West Kootenays: St. Leon Creek
LiquidLore (Monday 15th) * - Galena Bay ferry...the boat you need to get from Revelstoke to the river. The mountains in the Monashees are just as big as anywhere else in BC. ...
Zet Kayaks Anza gold
Zet Kayaks (Sunday 14th) * - Spring 2011 in the alps could have been better seen from the kayaker's or skier's eye. Dry winter months, the smallest snowpack since many years, hence no water in the rivers during the spring time. Checking the water levels online was mostly frustrating, except from a few weekends when long-awaited rain fall helped to raise the flow on some creeks. For sure, this year`s kayaking wasn't as exiting as most other years in the alps
KayakQuixotica Bad, Bad, Naughty Cam
KayakQuixotica (Monday 15th) * - As a sea kayaking coach I see lots of kayaks & gear on the water each year. I have the opportunity to see how students actually use their gear, how it works for them and how sometimes it really fails.  Take these Cam-Clips for instance.  I've ranted about them in the past, but they ...
