News Watch Headlines Year End Review by Nick Troutman Jackson Kayak - The Zen is quite possibly one of my favorite boat designs ever. I know that is a strong statement but I only say it because it is true! End of BC Season! Ricketts Kayaking - What's up everyone! Well its been a good long and sunny summer here in Whistler, good crew and a bunch of awesome boating! This summer season in BC has had one of the biggest turn out of kayakers this area has seen in a long time (if not ever!). Forecast for The Gales Have Kayaks, Will Travel - The Gales Storm Gathering is less than one week away. The roster of coaching talent is impressive: Shawna Franklin and Leon Somme are returning, and are joined this year by Nick Cunliffe, Chris Lockyer, and a host of top Great Lakes coaches. Voss Escape Nick Pearce - So over here in Norway we are heading into the end of the season with the days getting shorter and the weather getting colder, but there was still time for one last quick trip to voss. Whole Lotta Boatin' WRSI - So down in the SE things have been rowdy, chill and every other variance between over the last month or so. Down in the dirty we have been lucky to have high water green runs, Gauley Fest and a bit of rain. Canyoneering Tatahatso Canyon into Marble Gorge Funhog Blob - We had just passed the exposed ledges, where a fall would be your last, when the light began to fade. Despite my denial of the impending darkness, it was obvious that the cairns we followed were no longer apparent against the backdrop of broken sandstone. 2012 USNWC / Worldkayak Pro-Am for First Descents WK Throwdown - The 2012 USNWC / WorldKayak Pro-AM was unleashed on Saturday. This was the 3rd annual Pro Am providing an awesome opportunity for some up and coming young rippers and folks looking to figure this playboating thing out to learn from some of the best and raise money for First Descents all at the same time. Destination Unknown Rob Mercer - The idea was not to get hung up about goals and just see where each day would find us, whether driving, walking or paddling. We figured if we set no rules about our destination we would have the right mindset to make every day a real part of the journey. Escape from Britain! SW Sea Kayaking - This article was originally published in Canoe Kayak UK  magazine… Everyone who has tried sea kayaking knows that it takes you to special places. Locations which unlucky uninitiated folk ('Muggles') ... Glenmore Lodge Greenland Sea Kayak Expedition 2012 PeakUK - In July this year Glenmore Lodge set off for another Greenland Sea Kayak Expedition led by Giles Trussell and Carl Haberl. The freight had arrived in good time; according to the Egg Charts the ice was on the move away right on schedule and the expedition was full with 10 eager paddlers. Osprey Talon 22 Rucksack unsponsored - I have pretty much all of the Osprey Talon range. It started with a Talon 11 that brought in from the States before they were available here in the UK. Soon after a 33 and then a 22 joined the team. Scottish Canoe Symposium 2012 Palm Blogs - The Canoe Symposium moves around the UK on a tri-annual basis and this year it was Scotland's turn to host the array of canoeists that come to these events. Women's World Champion Outrigger Na Wahine O Ke Kai Race Kialoa - For 34 years outrigger canoes filled with women-only teams have vied to win the Na Wahine O Ke Kai race. The canoe course set between Moloka'i to O'ahu is through the unpredictable Kaiwi channel.
