News Watch Headlines 10 Days The Next Horizon Line - Until mid-January it had been a pretty bad season for me. My availability was just not lining up with high water days, which there weren't many of, but I was making the best of it on local favorites like the Tellico, Little, and Obed. The Grand Canyon of The Skikine Blair Trotman - This past September myself, Matt Burton, Adrien Kiernan, Corey Boux and Jules Domine met up for trip down the Stikine. The whole experience of getting to down and returning from the river was an unforgettable experience and one I will never forget and hope to do again. An Island in The South Pacific Nick Murphy - As time shifted yet another year I found myself ringing in 2013 with a trip to New Zealand. Four weeks into the trip I have found myself on a plethora of runs stretching from the West Coast of the South Island all the way down to the Southlands. New Dagger Mamba Review Palm Blogs - It feels kind of strange writing a kayak review in the middle of a snow-white Bovec, but if there's a good time to spend it on a computer, it is on lazy winter evenings. Oceania Champs Luuka Jones - Not a cloud in the sky down here in the Manawatu district and it only adds to the enjoyment of being back paddling my carbon kayak and on the favoured waters of Mangahao. Okere Dreaming Louise Jull - Life here in NZ is pretty dreamy. Last week a sweet crew of Okere ladies (and Sam) went mountain biking in to Waihaha hut which is out towards Tihoi. It was a really nice day and I was stoked to get back out on my bike. Celebrating Australia Day Weekend Rod Swan - We celebrated the Australia Day Weekend in typical style by getting out on our Australian rivers and in the Australian bush. With the temperatures hovering around the 32 degrees centigrade and and humidity around 90% what better excused than to get wet in the odd rapid. Finding People to Paddle With in Your Area SUP Connect - Sometimes it is nice to go for a stand up paddle session alone but often times that one remaining obstacle preventing us from getting out is that we have no one to share the experience with. Sometimes a little company can help with motivation, safety and add an extra element of fun. Golden Gate Seakayak Symposium CackleTV - What a great event the GGSKS is. A fantastic location, experienced and fun coaches, keen and interesting students, tasty food & I guess 3 days of sun helped too! Thanks so much to the organizers Sean Morley & Matt Palmariello for inviting me & to Kokatat for sponsoring my flight to the event. Muck and Mud with a Side of Bacon YakAngler - My son and I were invited to go hunt in a massive swamp for feral pigs. After working on the details of the hunt, we were chomping at the bit to go. It was decided that due to some of the areas being hard to reach by "regular" boat, that we would use the kayaks to slip along the creeks in search of pigs. My Sup Hog Hunt YakAngler - On a recent feral pig hunt I got to really put my new SUPerFISHal to the test. From the first planning stages of this hunt my friend Rob and I had decided that the board would be a great tool for chasing wild pigs. New Seat Bases for The Frontier in 2013 YakAngler - As an owner of the 2012 NuCanoe "Frontier", the one area in need of improvement was the seat base. The great thing about the folks at NuCanoe is the way they listen to their customers. The seat base on the 2013 model is much improved. New Starboard Fisherman on Its Way Atlantic Paddle Surfing - Have a new 2013 Starboard Fisherman ordered and on its way. Looking forward to exploring the Low Country fishing possibilities with this new SUP. Best Brews From Kayak Fishing The River Pat Kellner - The summer is hot, especially here in Texas, and there is no better time to head down to the river to cool off in the flowing water. The only two things that might make the river better are, catching a few fish and an ice-cold beer. SUPerstealthy Jackson Kayak - On a recent feral pig hunt I got to really put my new SUPerFISHal to the test. From the first planning stages of this hunt my friend Rob and I had decided that the board would be a great tool for chasing wild pigs.
