News Watch Opal Gorge, OR (2.10.13) Nathan Pfeifer - Opal Creek is considered one of the crown jewels of whitewater kayaking in Oregon. The middle run ( Mines to Three Pools ) is a classic class III+/IV adventure, with one class V (Big Fluffy) to spice things up if you so choose. This run is a great place for up-and-coming creek boaters ... Ej, Clay and My 10 Year Reunion on The Nile Jackson Kayak - It is hard to believe that it's been 10 years since my first trip to the Nile. Really it feels like it was just a few years ago that we were first here. So many things have changed but the essence of this place and the river remains the same. Helixir New 2013 Shape Guigui Prod - It's hard to believe that it has been nearly three years since I've shaped a new boat. I've been seriously thinking about it for almost a year. Now, it's done! A new weapon is coming out of my workshop. To create this gem I used a different approach this time, computer-aided design. Karma on the Ldub Jackson Kayak - To put the Little White Salmon River (AKA Ldub) in a few words, it's the most quality, continuous piece of whitewater I've ever paddled. People live here because of this river; others drive hours; other of us fly just to paddle it. Today I had the chance to run it in my new Karma, and came back with a few opinions. There's that funky feeling when you start walking those 50 steps to the water: its not just the fact that its an intense run that I probably won't fully remember, but also that its very cold water and this Mexican is not used to that. Oh yes, also the new boat on my shoulder. I put it down, sit in, get adjusted, close my skirt, quit whining and push off into the class II start... Double Diamond Test Alpin Action Team - This paddle Werner Double Diamond model, originally designed for the freestyle, in my opinion offers a double right combination and also in the river runner. Drysuit Review Immersion Research - First i have to say, and for sure that´s the most important point, the suit is dry as on the first day. All seams are faultless and the seam tapes are without any damages. They didn´t get loose or things like that. My Goals for 2013 Level 6 - Winter was more than good to paddlers in Doubs (eastern France). We were blessed with heavy rainfall and therefore exceptional high water levels in November and December 2012. First and Second for Level Six Team Members At The 2013 Wairoa Race Level 6 - Finally recovering from a long weekend of Extreme Racing and Event organizing. The Kaituna Time Trial was the first event of the weekend. It entailed two race runs down the length of the Kaituna River (regular section) with your combined times adding up to give you your total time. Great Falls Race 2008 Think Rain - Aptly named, Grace Under Pressure is perhaps the most intimidating of the standard lines on Great Falls. Sitting poised majestically at the top of the Center Lines, "Grace" is both breathtaking and terrifying. Nashville World Kayak Local Spotlight worldkayak - At age 26, Jason Crummer plays the dominator, having taken first place in our first annual Clear Creek Race. With our second race of the series rapidly approaching, he is training hard for what he hopes will be his second victory.
