NRS Duct Tape Diaries Challenges of the Undiscovered: Exploring Mexico's Rio Bavispe
NRS Duct Tape Diaries - Neil and I were about to embark on the first raft descent of the upper Rio Bavispe in northern Mexico, a tributary of the Rio Yaqui north of the infamous Copper Canyon. As far as we knew, the river had been run only once, by an exploratory kayaker. This was my favorite type of multi-day expedition, a challenging trip with unbiased expectations, unanticipated situations and little beta.

SUP Magazine Mediterranean Downwinder: Riding The Mistral
SUP Magazine - The "mistral" is a northwesterly wind that scours the coast of southern France on the Mediterranean. It's so prevalent that the vegetation along the coast is adapted to the wind and there's a windsurf and SUP brand named after it. And where there's wind, there's downwinding (and lots of windsurfing and kiting), especially with the perfectly placed bay off of La Ciotat, where this video starts.

Paddle Making Paddle tarp cups
Paddle Making - Always like to repurpose gear when in camp. Why should paddles only be functional in the water? Setting up tarps with canoe paddles isn't a new idea, but often the paddle shaft or grip isn't conducive to tying support lines. After doing an image search for tarp and paddles, I stumbled upon Poster Chainsaw's 2009 review of the True North tarp over on the Song of the Paddle Forums... This is creativity for sure...
