News Watch Headlines Durango Animas River Days 2015 Kokatat Blog - After becoming newly adopted into Brooke's van, we began our drive down through Colorado to Durango. Whitewater - After a private boater was cited for misdemeanor criminal charges for camping, American Whitewater asked California State Department of Parks and Recreation to reconsider their camping policy on the Middle Fork American River (MFA). Moosehorn to Hot Hole Pond, a Nalu Test PenobscotPaddles - Having gone to the effort of dragging the Nalu's back up our hill, we figured we may as well take them out in their ideal test environment, a shallow stream with lots of obstacles. NHAMC June Trash Patrol Trash Paddler - With yesterday being the first Saturday of the month it meant Denise Hurt and the New Hampshire Appalachian Mountain Club Paddlers would be doing another of their monthly Trash Patrols. Mrs. Trashpaddler and I decided to head north and join them for the patrol targeting the Nashua River behind the Mills in downtown Nashua. Almost Paddling the Blackstone Trash Paddler - This past Friday Mrs. Trashpaddler and I discovered a new (to us) bike trail in neighboring Rhode Island. The Blackstone River Bikeway proved a great place to experience both the river and historic canal while pedaling rather than paddling. Madagascar, a kayaker's heaven no jokes. Part 2 Ginga - After the five days on the Namarone we were thin. We ate everything in sight and it was marvelous not having to chew between stones. That evening I came down with a serious case of diarrhea. I spent most of the next day in bed. Had a raging fever and just felt plain ill. Go Pro Mountain Games 2015 Jackson Kayak - So the last few weeks have once again flown by and I now find myself at the Go Pro Games in Vail, Colorado in the USA. I arrived on Monday and quickly had to acclimatize to the 7,000+ft altitude and the gorgeous blue skies and sunshine. I didn't take long and within no time I was ready to get out on the water and start to train. Georgetown IFA Kayak Fishing Tour Jackson Kayak - Forty-two kayak anglers participated in the Georgetown, South Carolina IFA Kayak Fishing Tour in search of a spot tail and a speckled trout to win this event. Paddle and Pedal along the Northern Forest Canoe Trail in New Hampshire Northern Forest Canoe Trail - While there are certainly opportunities to paddle and pole your way upriver along the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, like most, I prefer downriver. And with very few river trips going downriver to end up at the start (exception: Moose River Bow trip NFCT map 10) inevitably your arrival at the end of an enjoyable paddle leaves you needing to return to you start.But what if the return could be as pleasant as the downstream paddle? Enter the Bike... 2nd Annual Onion River Race & Ramble – June 6th 2015 Vermont SUP - If you didn't know… today was the 2nd annual Onion River Race & Ramble held on the Winooski River in Vermont. The course started below the Bolton Dam and finished at the bridge in Richmond. This ten mile stretch is a gorgeous scenic cut through the green mountains. Disconnecting Down The Scioto Mission Complete SUP Magazine - A 231-mile SUP expedition to disconnect down Ohio's Scioto River is just what the doctor ordered for Shannon Thomas. Paddling Out Through Surf with Sam George SUP Magazine - Patience is imperative for paddling out unscathed, even for 2014 Standup World Tour Champion, Izzi Gomez. Gomez heeds Sam George's advice and waits for a lull between sets. Paddling The Bare Minimum in Bay Bulls Tony Paradise - Dean suggested a paddle in Bay Bulls as it is sheltered from the southerly winds forecasted. When we got there Gerard was in the process of taking a tour group out. Room was scarce but I managed to get to the front of the line and put in between the boats on the right. Interview with Badfish athlete Brittany Parker SUP for the Soul - I started out as a raft guide, which was my first real experience on the river. While I was guiding a trip, I ran into some people who were standup paddling and thought it looked like fun. From that group I met Shane Ebrahimi of Shaboomee SUP who invited me out paddling. Surf Sup ACA - Written by T.J. Turner, ACA Education & Outreach Coordinator. T.J. holds several ACA instructor certifications in SUP, kayaking, and canoeing. One of his favorite places to paddle is the 13th Block East in Folly Beach, South Carolina.
