Kokatat Blog - Every weekend this summer has been focused around paddling. Rain has been intermittent, so the typical go-to rivers are pretty much our only options: the Green, Chattooga and Ocoee. For the past few months my boat of choice on all three runs has been my boat with a bitchin' stern that will slice into the water and get vertical.

In July this year, the South African SUP Championships was held in Cape Town, and it was clear that the country's SUP surfing level has gone up a notch! Guess it was only a matter of time with their good waves and rich surfing pedigree.

Kayak Yak - This is how Animus River looks, the reason the river is full of toxic waste water containing high levels of lead, arsenic, cadmium, and aluminum. The reason is contamination from leakage from Gold King Mine. The repercussions, loss of business for outfitters in Durango as Animus river is closed for water sport activities. The bad news is the sludge is making its way towards the Colorado River. This is really horrible news.
