Kokatat Blog Great Falls of The Potomac – Maryland and Virginia Lines
Kokatat Blog - Now that we live in Tennessee, Washington DC and Great Falls is not terribly far away. We had tried to paddle Great Falls on our road trip last spring, but when we passed through, the water levels were too high. We have a good friend, Laura Farrell, who just moved to DC and were eager to paddle the falls for ourselves.
Kokatat Blog Flatwater Drills for Whitewater Skills
Kokatat Blog - Even in my most advanced courses like Class IV Creek Week I focus on flatwater drills and skills. Why? Because in flatwater you don't have the distraction of whitewater and all of the mental stuff that comes with it.

Alpin Action Team Astral Rassler water shoe - review by Matic Tercelj (EN)
Alpin Action Team - Last November I started a mission in Nz / starting on Kaituna and then going down south to paddle steep creeks in the native bush of New Zealand's West coast as well as big water rivers eg. Kawerau. Instead of old shoes I decided to prepare myself well for NZ creeking adventure. Since kayaking on the other side of the world includes a lot of long and steep walk-ins, slippery portages... I brought along a pair of Astral Rasslers. NZ was the perfect place to test out the Rassler on all counts.

Palm Blogs Ride Surf Kayak British Championships
Palm Blogs - It was October, the day was in its youth and emerging over the edge of the hammock was a clean set of well formed waves rolling onto the sands of the beach that is all too familiar. Freshwater West, a place of rest for a beloved house elf and a setting for Robin Hood to fearlessly fight French forces, it was now the stage for the Ride Surf Kayak British Championships. Jackson Kayak Here is a take on how to be victorious on the race competitions
Jackson Kayak - Now in all seriousness, the real three keys are to: plan, visualize, and go hard. Do not only know which eddies you need to catch but plan how you are going to catch them and where you will enter/exit. Look for the 8-balls and try to strategize your best bet for getting in and out of their areas as fast as possible in ways that avoid collisions with other racers. Traffic jams help no one. Watch where the water moves and look for what may not be the most direct path, but rather the one with the fastest moving water.
