Jackson Kayak Fun time kayaking with the ladies
Jackson Kayak - Last week, I went to the Pigeon River women's paddle event, titled Dirty Bird Confidence Series. This was an awesome event, put on by Crystal Gustin, Nikki Malatin, and Katie Dean. We had a total of 26 women participate! I have had the opportunity to help out at several of these women paddling events in the past, and they are all awesome in their own way. The goal of this particular event, was to get more women out on the water together, and also to increase our comfort with playboating. There were 2 groups; a slicy boat group and a playboat group. The 2 groups played their way down the river, working on different moves depending on their boat type and skill level...
Reiner Glanz Paddling the Middle Kings - the 'Bottom Nine'
Reiner Glanz - So the next morning we woke up to the same awesome views of Tehipite Dome that we fell asleep with. After breakfast we were ready for the Bottom Nine, the stretch of this river that is supposedly the crux when you talk with people that have run MFK. So after a short Class II boogie start to warm up the first horizon line marked the start into the steepest section of this trip.
Kokatat Mill Creek - A West Virginia Jewel
Kokatat - Due to a crazy work year, my wife Diane and I have not been able to hit the river as much as we would like. Last year I logged sixty-two personal first descents, and this year I was only at seven. Perhaps that is why on a whim, with no water in Tennessee, Diane and I opted to drive north 4 1/2 hours to chase water in West Virginia. The Plan was to boat Mill Creek in the morning, before meeting up with a friend to run the easier Middle Meadow that the evening.

Canoe Kayak - Algonquin Provincial Park straddles the transition zone between the northern boreal forest and the southern deciduous forest, making for a unique and diversified landscape.
Kokatat Alicia Casas Zaragoza
Kokatat - Alicia has always been passionate about nature and outdoor sports. Growing up in the city, she was never specifically interested in rivers and knew nothing about kayaking until she moved to Sort (Pyrenees) after 7 long years of law school.
unsponsored Sweet Protection Sabrosa Spray Top – First Look
unsponsored - The new Sweet Protection Sabrosa spray top is something that I have been waiting for from Sweet for some time. In most of my Sweet dry top reviews I have mentioned that a short sleeve version would be a great idea and it seems Sweet have listened. The cut and construction of their long sleeve tops and drysuits is superb so I am glad to see a short sleeve version coming to market. We have a Sabrosa landing very shortly at Unsponsored HQ for a full review.
Jackson Kayak How to choose the right paddle
Jackson Kayak - I believe the most commonly asked questions I've seen around kayak forums are: What kind of paddle do I need? and What length of paddle should I get for X, Y or Z kayak?

International Rivers - On July 25, the World Bank suspended its support for the giant Inga 3 Dam in the Democratic Republic of Congo. What the World Bank once hailed as a transformational project for the region has become the latest cautionary tale of the enormous pitfalls of mega-dams.
