Expedition Icon: Verlen Kruger Canoe Roots - Verlen Kruger canoed the full length of the Mississippi River several times over his 82 years. For most people, just one trip would provide bragging rights to last a lifetime. Kruger wasn't most people. With expeditions crisscrossing the entire Western Hemisphere, Kruger paddled more than 100,000 miles. That's more than 42 runs of the Mississippi River, or four trips around the equator. At 41 years old, he started canoeing. He spent the next 41 years making up for lost time. And then I stumbled onto this Cape Wrath packrafting and fat biking video. After about two hours of dreaming up trips to do with a fat bike and packraft, I think I better get back to work. Celtic Crossing – Epic voyage race from the isles of Scilly to Sennen Cove ASI - Glenn Eldridge created this event called the Celtic Crossing, it is known as Europe's Longest Open Ocean paddle race comprising of 52 kms of open Ocean paddle. It is very challenging that the crossing requires a level of skill, endurance and ocean knowledge only found in elite watermen and women who have spent their lives preparing themselves for a challenge just like this! The APP World Tour Prepares for an Epic Finals Day at Stop 1, The 2017 Sunset Beach Pro standuppaddlesurf.net - The Australians are making their presences felt as we prepare for a dramatic finals day in conjunction with a new long period swell. With just the quarters thru final remaining for the Men's division and just the Final left for the women here at the 2017 Sunset Beach Pro, tension is mounting as we build up to what promises to be a spectacular final day of action at Stop 1 of the APP World Tour. SUP Instructor Set to Paddle 250 Miles for Charity SUP Connect - This summer will see extreme sports enthusiastic and SUP Instructor Sam Robison take on coastal challenge around Cornwall. Sam along with this stand-up paddle board and supplies for the adventure, will be paddling from Bude to Plymouth, following the Cornish coastline all the way. Boothy, Jake or Titou? the Focus Turns to Queensland for the 12 Towers/Noosa Double Header SUPracer - While the northern hemisphere is receiving record snowfalls, the summer racing season is well underway in Australia, and coming up over the next two weekends we've got two of the biggest and longest-running events in the country: The 12 Towers ocean race on the Gold Coast and the Noosa Festival of Surfing a few hours north on the Sunshine Coast. Bogastow's Breeze Trash Paddler - I'd just paddled up Bogastow Brook into South End Pond from the Charles River yesterday afternoon.  There, facing into a warm almost summer-like breeze, I looked across a still mostly iced-over pond (photo at left).  It was surreal.
