Andy Maser, team member and National Geographic Adventurer, is currently embarking on a Bolivian excursion to study the affects of climate change. They are in their first week of the trip currently and its being documented on National Geographics Adventure Travel blog.

Water is still a little low out here in Colorado, but it didn't stop the 28 kayakers from breaking out the boats for a little racing. Saturday marked the 4th annual Monarch Mt. snow boatercross.

We sessioned Storm hard, then headed down to Playspot as the sun was setting. Playspot is possibly one of the best and most frustrating spots for loops anywhere.

WWTCC WWTCC: Long live the Kingpin
There was quite a bit of excitement just before a headed off to Nepal. We had a call from Ben at Palm telling us about Palm intend to bring the Kingpin back to life for a limited period! Excellent!!!! Was my response, the Kingpin was always an excellent boat, a firm favorite with many paddlers.

Jackson Kayak Jackson Kayak: $500,000 to Idaho Whitewater
This has been a great week for Idaho. The Friends of the Cascade Whitewater Park have been given $500,000 donation by Mark and Kristina Pickard to design and build a whitewater park in Cascade, Idaho.

Today was the first sunny/nice day we have had in a while so I figured I would go for a short paddle down at the whitewater park. Although it was still cold, it proved to turn into a fun session, and I officially cannot wait for it to get warmer and the rivers to start going.

This year we got some rain and I was able to catch the Back Fork of the Elk for the first time. It starts out on Sugar Creek for a quarter mile, then joins the Back Fork and floats along lazily for a while before getting down to business.

The only wish would be that I use the Day Tripper Elite next time for a perfect 5 hours of bliss.

I've heard several people say that they think inflatable kayaks are "tippy", even more so than a regular hard shell or folding kayak. Personally, I've paddled them all and I can't quite agree.
