Paddle Press Paddle Press: adidas Sickline: Alexander Grimm wins 2009 adidas Sickline Extreme Kayak World Championship
In a tight and thrilling final on the legendary Wellerbrücke course German kayaker Alexander Grimm won gold today at the adidas Sickline Extreme Kayak World Championship in Austria's beautiful Ötztal. Grimm finished 68 hundreds of a second ahead of New Zealand's Mike Dawson, who was followed by Jakobus Stenglein from Germany.

After a brief hiatus, the Mamba rejoins the popular Mamba Creeker as an additional option for Dagger Whitewater, bringing back renowned river running capabilities to the series.

The KanFest, as its know locally is by far the largest white water kayaking event in Western Canada. After my first year there during the festival its easy to see why this event is on lots of the local and not so local paddlers calendars. The event is packed full of awesome events like Surf Offs, Down River Races, Survivor Slaloms, Ball Races and Survivor Kananaskis.

This years Etive River Race saw a whole bunch of kayakers from across the UK descend on the banks of the River Etive in Scotland for one of the most extreme races on the UK calendar.

The Himalayan Whitewater Challenge is all about fun. This unique event format combines an Extreme Slalom, Downriver and Freestyle event to find an overall whitewater champion. The event takes place in the amazing Nepalese Himalayas, close to Mount Everest and Tibet.

ICF ICF: A Record Number of Nations Compete in the 13th Asian Canoe Sprint Championships
The Asian Canoe Sprint Championships concluded on the 29th September after four days of competition. Athletes arrived in Tehran and came together to represent 24 Asian nations, a record number of competing nations at an Asian Championships.
