Playak Playak: Emotion Kayaks Bliss - New
Sleek, nimble, and light-footed~ this silky smooth hull packs surprising speed for its short length.

Evan Garcia Evan Garcia: Rio Panqui First Descent
So this has always been a river that has interested me due to its close proximity to the rest of the good here. We woke up one sunny morning and drove to Currarehue where we found a very low looking level at the bridge... do we want to go? Yeah we are already here so... basicly we put on and rode out about 2-3 miles of the worst low volume class II ever!!! what´s up? then all off the sudden we show up at a huge horizon line marking the portage

Atlantic Kayaker Atlantic Kayaker: Nepisiguit River
The Nepisiguit River is a play boaters paradise in early spring. Big water fun!! Put in at Pabineau Falls just on the out skirts of the City of Bathurst in the Pabineau First Nations. At super high water you can run the falls via a tongue on river left, but this is not advised at lower levels due to the horseshoe shape of the falls and the 20 feet of drawback into a very nasty hole.

Whitewater-Koa Whitewater-Koa: 11~11~08 Nepal Expedition Begins
This morning marks the start point of a 28hr travel period to the start of the 'Nepali girls Kayak Expedition'. In 28 hrs we will be met at Kathmandu airport by hundreds of people wanting to carry bags, drive us the the best accomodation etc etc, but most importantly we will be met by someone carrying a paddle who will take us to our hostel. For a couple of days the trip will be sorting gear and buying extra gear needed before we head to the Sun Kosi to start the trip.

Mark Basso Mark Basso: Clore Canyon, Bc - Canada
Bryce Shaw heading up quality control in the Clore Canyon, BC - Canada The Grand Canyon of the Clore has remained a fascinating series of topographical lines on the map, repeatedly sparking the interests of paddlers within and beyond the local Terrace creeking community.

Small World Adventures Small World Adventures: Back In Ecuador--yippee!
The team is assembled once again in Ecuador. Don, Larry, Darcy, Chris, Hilary, Eduardo, Lili, Memo, and Hector are all together again in Borja getting ready for our upcoming season. We spent the last month paddling great rivers in the northwest, and while it was a little hard to leave, I must admit that putting the drysuit and poggies into storage for the winter was a wonderful feeling.

ERA Blog ERA Blog: No Vacancy in the Holes
It is disconcerting when you head into a rapid and realize that all the preferable holes to fall into (the ones that might be better-than-not-so-good) all appear to have "no vacancy" signs because your fellow boaters are already surfing around in them and you are relegated to the one no one else wanted to be in…Such can be a day of paddling the Lower Reventazon!

Inflatable Kayak Blog Inflatable Kayak Blog: Kayak Paddling – Stern Rudder Stroke
Just like the rudder of a ship controls the direction of the ship, the stern rudder stroke allows you to guide your kayak through obstacles as an aid to controlling the kayak downwind with the ruddering incorporated into the forward paddle cycle. To rudder, turn back with the paddle parallel to the boat.

Total WW Fun Total WW Fun: Old School Fun In The Reaction
way back in ancient times (1990's) I remember doing enders and corner spins in my old long boat. I brought the Reaction down to Tville to recapture some of that fun for a moment before breaking out the hot dog freestyle boat. I ended up spending the entire session in the Reaction.

Dash Point Pirate Dash Point Pirate: Kayak Models
A friend showed me his models of arctic kayaks yesterday. They are antiques (19th century) made by the natives. The construction details are incredible. The Greenland kayak on the right has bone rubstrips pegged to the the stem and stern of the kayak. Note the bone pegged to the edges of the paddle. The west arctic kayak on the left looks like a Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta type.
