Kayak Session Kayak Session: Jakub's Nemec First Nepal Trip
Our trip started on 12th of October when me and Basti have come to Kathmandu.We moved to Bhote Kosi. Its pretty good river with some big rapids and still quite big volume in October. Whole section is like 20 kms and it is just nonstop fun. We have spent there couple of days and then we moved to Balephi kola in next valley. Its a small river and not so steep with like 50 cubics. But the nature and landscapes is really nice. Also with friendly people.

We just had the Kaituna race which is the southern cup. It was a sweet race, Johann was chief course designer, but I wanted to throw in a little move in the shoot to mix it up a little bit. It was sweet to race, mixing it up a little but from aerobic training all day. Soon it;ll be racing time!!

After an epic first few days in Pucon things only seemed to get better! Mariann and I teamed up with Long time Chilean river explorer Kurt Kassey and Chilean kayaker Miguel Ruiz to hit the Rio Desague.

I had planned for about 6 people to work, and had no idea how the day would turn out.In the end we had about 10 people working. The energy was fantastic, I think that we all have a creative streak inside of us just waiting to be let free, and that is what happened here. Each carver was given a 2 by 4 and some sharp instruments and a bit of guidance and at the end of the day everyone had a paddle, or something resembling a paddle.

Basically, the rudder post sticks up through the hull of the boat and into this big pie-shaped chunk of metal. That's the rudder quadrant.There's a cable end attached to either end of arc at the front of the the quadrant.
