Playak: Independent Playak Review: KayakPro Speedstroke Gym ergometer I'm a huge fan of the outdoors and I normally paddle 4 times per week, throughout the seasons. I typically laugh about people watching TV on home trainers and in fitness centers, wondering why they don't take a real bike and breathe some fresh air. This year was different though. Global warming isn't what it used to be and just after Christmas I noticed that I hadn't been on the water for 3 full weeks. This was an excellent reason to re-think my prejudices and finally I decided to try a kayak ergometer.

OR Rafting Team: Illinois River 1/2 Day We decided to attempt a one day paddle raft descent of the 32 mile Lower Illinois River. At the time the level was approximately 8,000cfs above the recommended level with more rain in the forecast.

UK Freestyle: Selection rules clarifications We are aware that the original rules that were posted for selections had a few inconsistencies and due to their 'provisional nature' (unfortunately the ICF didn't publish the rules in January as hoped!) they are still open to misinterpretation.

Isle of Man Kayak: Sea Kayaking Isle of Man - Brutal On Sunday Ian, Jess and myself hit the tidal races down at the Calf Sound, Isle of Man. Strong tides and opposing winds made it brutal! Shaky at first it took me about 20 minutes to gain my paddling composure and exploit the surfing potential at hand.

Claire received the award for her dedication to Freestyle and Squirt Kayaking in which she has excelled over the last few years winning European, World and British titles.
