Misc.: Flood took out safety line over Des Moines River Most Playak readers probably already know about the dangers of low head dams. Just to make sure every last reader knows the full details about such dangers, here's another sad story of an incident on the Des Moines River.

Kayak USSR: Katun abnormal water To take a rest from hard class 5 rivers all the kayakUSSR guides headed to Katun. It is a big volume river with 150 miles of class 3-4 whitewater. The run is interesting for both running the river and rodeo. That's why do at least two Katun rodeo tours every year.

Evan Garcia: Silver Falls, Packwood WA So the rapid was about as hard as it looked.The first part of the falls was smooth and I subbed out in the seem like I predicted.

Whitewater-Koa: Voss Extreme week and beyond! It starts off with some sweet manky rock gardens into the first gorge. Drop 1 is a 8 or 9m S-bend waterfall with a nasty pocket at the bottom.

Fraser Valley WW: 2009 Puntledge River Festival This years Puntledge River fest was my third in a row.  Just like both years before, it was a great time. Being that this run is below a hydro dam and the nice people at BC Hydro crank up the flow every year its a guaranteed big water surf filled weekend.

Werner: Werner's Dan Gavere: Paddle long and hard The event was hosted by the Ghostryders Waterman Club, which plans to donate proceeds to local Junior Guard programs. To make things a little more exciting there was a shark sighting by one of the safety boats.

ICF Wildwater Committee: European Wildwater Championships 2009 European Wildwater Championships 2009 was held on 21-27 June 2009.

Team I-Canoe: A bit of flatwater fun after work As we were on the flat its hard to say what it will feel like on a wave or hole but it does give that very loose feeling when paddling it.
