Paddle Press Paddle Press: Johnson Outdoors Announces Consolidation of Watercraft Brands' Operations
Johnson Outdoors Inc. (Nasdaq:JOUT), a leading global outdoor recreation company, today announced it is consolidating operations for its paddle sport brands in Old Town, Maine by the end of September 2009 as part of a comprehensive effort to improve profitability of its Watercraft business unit.

This is one of those things that always seems to crop up either after the annual pilgrimage to the Alps or after a big dump of rain after a long dry spell. Contrary to what allot of folks seem to thing these days kayaks are large designed to paddle down rivers avoiding rocks and obstacles as opposed to being rock ramming machines.

The wave was unreal. Big and fast with a huge pile. It would green out the odd time. Well a lot of the time but it was still a blast to paddle.

The Middle Cheak delivered in a big way! The Whistler guys run it often enough, but aside from that you don't hear much about it. I'd paddled down to the first drop of the Middle in the past, but never bothered to keep going and see what was next.

The Eurocup in Lienz provided by far the best playspot. The organization was also the best. I was surprised to see a great audience during the finals.

After a sick/epic day on the Cispus with good juice flow we camped out at the take out of that run readying us for another day out in WA. Our first choice was the Clear fork of the Cowlitz, which was looking low and full of wood. Then with a little fear and starry stout gleam we drove back to Silver Falls only a few short minutes up the road.

The local kayak club together with the Avalon Dragon Boat club and the Tumblehome Canoe club put together a day on the water of Octagon Pond in Paradise, a town just outside of St John's, Newfoundland. The theme of the day was 'safety'.

Sebago Canoe Club Sebago Canoe Club: Youth Paddle 2009
Once all the youth and Sebago helpers were on the water we paddled out under the Belt Parkway Bridge, beached for a break, and then paddled back to Sebago.
