Today i would like to talk about my river-running / creek boat; the amazing Super Hero. Couple years ago I got the Rocker, one of the best creek boats I have paddled, but when EJ and David Knight made this new 'river running' design with a flat hull i was very interested to try it.

Immersion Research Immersion Research: IR Welcomes Jesse Becker to the Family
We have recently added Jesse as the newest IR employee. He will be our National Sales Coordinator and West Coast Representative. Jesse can be reached at jbecker@immersionresearch.com Jesse at home on the water Here is a little bio from Jesse:
I grew up in the midwest from a family of outdoorsy goofballs and deer hunters. Finally figuring out that sitting in a woods for hours on end freezing my toes off was not all that great, I decided to find another way to check out the fall colors. I have always held a respect and a fascination for water, even as a young'n, so a couple of friends and I decided to go out and buy some sea kayaks. Goofing around in the woods Now this was around '99 or so, when being in a boat narrower than 5 feet, without a motor, to the general public was considered "extreme", which we thought was pretty funny, but we loved the exploration that could be had from the water. This eventually led to trips to the Apostle Islands and various trips on Lake Michigan, and then graduating on to swift, fast paced rivers which got us to thinkin…."wouldn't a shorter boat work better on this stuff?" From then on, whitewater has been my passion, along with SUP and mountain biking. I currently reside in Hood River, OR and have lived here for a little more than two years. Some of you may know me through my work with AT Paddles, where I helped to keep Customer Service and Sales Representation to the highest standard. I look forward to seeing you on the road!
Cheers!

Team Pyranha Team Pyranha: Paddling in Arkansas with Ouachita Outdoor Outfitters

There's paddling in Arkansas?  If you've watched 'Arkayakansas,' you know the answer to this question is 'yes.'  And, Jared, Dave, and I were fortunate enough to experience some of Arkansas' classic runs.   To conclude our US summer road trip, we stopped at Ouachita Outdoor Outfitters in Hot Springs, Arkansas for a paddle session and video premier.   With the help of an unusual amount of rain for the month of August, we were able to paddle Baker Creek and the Cossatot.   A great crew showed up to paddle with us down these fun runs and later watch the 'Demshitz' movie at Buffalo Wild Wings.  Thanks to Jeremy and Don for the refreshments and hospitality!   Keep checking in on this site, because there might be a short video of Arkansas kayak boofing and Andy's remote control car boofing over and through people.  I hope we get to paddle with these guys again next year! Here are some pictures Dave took of the paddle down the Baker.   Watch 'Arkayakansas' for some better footage.   This store has a Medium Mission Burn for sale!  So, if you are bummed you did not get one of the limited edition camouflage Burns a couple of years ago, check it out!

Isle of Man Kayak Isle of Man Kayak: Kayak Isle of Man - Scarp.
I was last in Huisinis, Isle of Harris, 7 years ago. I was in the Outer Hebrides doing a locum anaesthetic job, much as I am now. Those were different times and I had dreams of living and working in such a place as this. I stared across the turbulent sound which separates the Isle of Har...
