PaddleBlogs PaddleBlogs: Playback with Steve Fisher: 'The Ultimate Ride' Trailer
Many of my trips around the world end up on TV, but because of rights issues etc, they regularly don't find their way into the kayak community. But on this occasion we've gotten lucky.
KS Freestyle Worlds Coverage #Thun KS Freestyle Worlds Coverage #Thun: Day 6 Report
If there is one thing I love about paddling it is playing in the surf, but not because of the "rush." Although it is of course fun, for me it is the challenge of controlling a kayak in these conditions and testing my skills that gets me excited to paddle out again and again as things get rolling. Core skills like torso rotation and edge control become even more important as waves wash over your bow and stern and essentially try and lock your kayak in place. It is here that we start today's short lesson, because if we do not "get below the deck" with our paddling, we will never transition all the work our upper body is doing into the water efficiently.
Tony Paradise Tony Paradise: Another way to Avondale
Avondale is a popular paddling destination in the area of St. John's. Its about a 70 km drive if you put-in in Avondale. Sometimes I want to put-in closer to home and save the gas. There's more than one way to skin a cat they say and so it is with getting to Avondale.
Palm Blogs Palm Blogs: the Final day in Thun

Björn takes the Illorsuit design to a higher level: still based upon the traditional Greenland design with the beauty and harmony of the traditional lines, but with a modern hull shape and hydrodynamics, using the latest knowledge of 21st century-kayak design.
Freya Hoffmeister Freya Hoffmeister: Day 230, Friday, 04.09.2009
Text message from Freya: 30.49 115.11, Wedge Island. 65 km, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Nice following winds all day! Got two surfski escort paddlers, John and Ashley, for an hour or so before I was paddling for two hours in the low breaker zone of a wide breaker line, getting wet allover, but fun, stubborn to go out again where some higher breakers may be lurking.
Justine Curgenven Justine Curgenven: Wind & rain
We had a fun trip out to the Skerries, and enjoyed seeing about 30 curious seals and plenty of seabirds. Today we ventured to Rhoscolyn and battled into the wind out to the Beacon, before a downwind paddle along the coast, then sneaking back to the beach, sticking close to shore.
Kayak Session Kayak Session: Daily report: Day 5 Semi Finals
The weather gods were kind and the Semi Finals of the ICF World Freestyle Championships in Thun opened with sunshine and good water levels. Thanks to great planning by the organizer the events didn't start until the afternoon, giving athletes a well deserved rest from paddling and partys. Good weather and a late start also meant a huge crowd of spectators packed the stands to watch Great for the event, great for the sport of kayaking.
