Playak News Flash - April 26, 2010
The world's latest paddling headlines.
A Wet State (CA) Dry Meadow Creek
A Wet State (CA) - So far this year has proved to be a good one. For the 5th or 6th write-up in a row I am going to start by saying, "this run has been on my list for a long time." I believe the first time I saw pictures were on the dreamflows whitewater photos page followed a short time later by the photo on the cacreeks write-up.
A Wet State (CA) North Fork of the Kern, Salmon Falls
A Wet State (CA) - So this run has not been on my list… ever. I never really had any desire to do these runs. I had run Chamise Gorge a few years back and had run Ant Canyon several times. Running them separately had always been fine by me. But then this year (2010) as the Kern River Fest was approaching, we decided to make the long drive down to the Kern Friday night. Since I had work on Monday I needed to get a sufficient amount of boating in in the two days that I would be at the Kern.
Playak Liquid Logic Coupe
Playak - Versatility is the name of the game these days when it comes to getting your money's worth and the Coupe offers it up in large doses. This one-of-a-kind hybrid design is fun, stable, easy to paddle and is as comfortable on rivers and lakes as it is riding your favorite ocean break.
Team Pyranha Corse We Can!
Team Pyranha - Filming for Means of Production 2 has been continuing in Corsica! But it hasn't all been simple fun and games; oh no. April 4th: Lucy and Luke picked me up from my grandmother's house in London and we shot off at high speed to catch our ferry. However things took a turn for the inconvenient when Luke's radiator exploded just before reaching the dartford crossing.
Fraser Valley WW Hood River Trip
Fraser Valley WW - The endless whitewater possibilities in the Columbia River Gorge are no secret. With world famous runs located on either side of the Columbia River Gorge that separates Washington and Oregon state it's hard to drive in any direction for more than 10 minutes without crossing another classic run.
playak.tv Video: Rock Paper Scissors: Ireland Freestyle Easter 2010
playak.tv - Freestyle Kayaking from the Meat Factory Hole on the River Inny and Tarmonbarry Wave on the River Shannon.
LVM TV Back From The Hack…Can't Stop The Gold
LVM TV - We were set back a day with a direct assault on The LVM website. After about 15 hours of work we are back online. Get ready for a giant golden dump today, here we go!
Outside Blog Interview with Jeremy Wade
Outside Blog - Fishing may be a hobby to you, but for Jeremy Wade, host of Animal Planet's River Monsters, it's a way of life. Wade scours the rivers of the world for the stuff of legend, and we're lucky enough to bear witness. Viewers have seen him catch a lot of big fish, including a human sized Goonch Catfish, but most of the thrill comes from watching the hunt. We caught up with Wade just before the new season begins.
Kokatat Blog More NOC Shootout
Kokatat Blog - On Friday I arrived at the Nantahala Outdoor Center around 1 o'clock in the afternoon to find the NOC campus full of whitewater enthusiasts ready for a fun filled weekend. I spent about an hour in the outfitters Store talking with potential customers and catching up with my good friend and boat salesmen Ben Bloemsma. Once I made a sweep through the outfitters store, I got my gear together and jumped on the NOC store wave, which had been rebuilt specifically for the NOC shootout weekend.
Jackson Kayak Sunrift Clinic
Jackson Kayak - We did the Sunrift clinic today and it went great. It was our last clinic of the east before we head to California. It was a bit rainy but it didn't matter on the river. There was a good 30 people so it was really good to see how many showed up. We ran the lower green which is a class 1-2 stretch of river.
Total WW Fun N.E.W. Triple Crown Championships Freestyle
Total WW Fun - Amazing shots from freestyle in the afternoon. The sun was shining, so the audience was large; enjoying all the hot moves...
