Jackson Kayak Cold Weather back? Tips for making that first cold trip a winner!
Jackson Kayak - Drove all night for some WV surfing and woke to snow flying and highs in the 40′s?   OMG this is awful!   No wait, I boat all winter and think this is fine so why does it feel so wrong right now?  Oh yeah – because i'm looking at my shorty and light fleece and wondering what became of my pogies this summer….

After an intense month creeking all around the veracruz state all the boys left home and now It´s only Tino, Mathias and me, we are pretty close to the end of our trip, the water levels are low and not much things are runnable but still having an amazing time....

Astral Currently BC 2011
Astral Currently - My season in BC started very slowly working lots on the Clearwater River and not getting much paddling in for myself. As the season finished I teamed up French ripper Jules Domine and a small crew, and that all changed.
Rod Swan Grading of Rapids
Rod Swan -  The "Grade" or "Class" of a rapid is given a number value from 1 up to 6. The scale is not linear, nor is it fixed. For instance, there can be hard grade twos, easy grade threes, and so on. The grade of a river may change with the l...

Willy P Yuba Gap
Willy P - Just when you, or some other people, think the California Class V whitewater boat riding season is over, a little stretch of river receives just the right amount of water. The stretch we're talking about here is known in kayaking circles as the legendary Yuba Gap run. Few attempts, fabled with epic ...

New River Academy Maipo
New River Academy - The Maipo is a brown gem of a river. The upper sections are the harder parts of the river. On Thursday we ran the top part of the Upper and the main section of the upper. They were both the same. Very continuous class IV with hundreds of boofs and extra lines to take. The top part of the upper is fed partly by another river called the Yeso- which we haven't gotten to run yet because it is dam release and has not been on.
Imagine Surf Good time in Hawaii
Imagine Surf - From our good friends in Hawaii: Of all the west coast Kohanaiki is the biggest swell magnet and probably our most reliable surf break. Depending on swell direction there's at least 6 peaks before the end of the road. The fact that its such a bumpy off road with often deep sand streeks ...
Girls at Play Headbands and Noseplugs: My Mental Game
Girls at Play - Like most physical endeavors out there, kayaking is extremely mental.  The success of a run can be determined by your attitude, confidence, and nervousness to excitement ratio.
The Lake is the Boss Last Superior paddle for 2011?
The Lake is the Boss - Last Sunday morning found me leaving the detrius of the Grouse Kill and heading to Red Cliff for an attempted rendezvous with an intrepid foursome coming the Oak 1 site on the south spit. Early rising and an early departure from that event is more easily said than done for multiple reasons, but...
Werner Werner's Adriene Levknecht Wins her Fourth Green River Narrows race.
Werner - (Photos by Clay Wright, Cheryl Killman and Brad Roberts). The entire family at Werner Paddles wants to congratulate Team paddler Adriene Levknecht on her 4th Green River Narrows race Women's title in a row.  It could be argued that the "Green Race" is the most prestigious extreme kayak race in the world and to beat Adriene in her own back yard just isn't going to happen.
Rafting Life A Journey down the Nimpkish River
Rafting Life - The Nimpkish river is one of my favourite parts of COLT. It signals the  of the whitewater training and take great pride in the students accomplishments. Also it is a very beautiful place. The Nimpkish is the largest river system on Vancouver Island. Stretching from the mountains of Gold River to the Ocean it has a reach of over 100km's.
SW Sea Kayaking Moor fun
SW Sea Kayaking - A lurvely weekend on our favourite South West moor. The girls went off to one part of the moor and (presumably) did girly things, we blokes met up on another part of the moor and did (relatively) manly things. The River Dart was rather low on Saturday, but is always fun, and I appreciated a ...
