Alabama: Competitions while standing or sitting Immersion Research - Training and preparing for my summer tour has been stressful for me.  But the first competition of the season reminded me why I love to paddle and compete.  I recently competed in The Alabama Mountain Games which was a great trial run for the rest of the season. The event this year was awesome, and it was more about hanging out and having fun than the competition (though 10 extremely competitive paddlers can make anything competitive). Isle of Man Kayak - I guess when you look at the photos above of yours truly in the Calf Sound tidal races, it is easy to see how a paddler could become injured at this more extreme end of the sport. Essen 4s is the equivalent of Rugby 7s, it is a fast and physical format of the game with exciting high scoring games and a tournament that has always eluded Viking in its short history.
