I was gutted that I wasn't part of the first crew down the Kokatahi but that said, going in with a padded-out medium flow was sick to say the least. Outfitters: Time for Something New? Bellyak -   Let's face it, as an outfitter, you constantly have to improve your offering in order to get repeat customers. Unless you have the benefit of working on multiple rivers at consistent flows or have a steady stream of new clients, you have to differentiate, ... Stott determined to be back paddling in 2014 ICF - Olympic Champions Etienne Stott and Tim Baillie's 2013 season was cut short this summer when Stott dislocated his shoulder. Five months later he is on the mend and vows to be back paddling in 2014. Dylan Frick, Mishka Steyn Wrap Up Downwind Dash Series in South Africa SUPracer - The 2013 PRIMI Naish Downwind Championship decider was held at Woodbridge Island, Milnerton on 11th Dec. The race takes the paddlers 10.1km downwind to Big Bay. Conditions were very contestable with 17-23knots of wind and no swell. Homosassa River, Florida: Monkees, Manatees and Monitors PenobscotPaddles -  Homosassa River is another bay/river/spring which has been carved into canals creating thousands of waterfront lots.  But there are still large stretches of undeveloped land along the water.  Nautic SUP Paris Crossing 2013 SUPboarder - The 'Nautic SUP Paris Crossing' was another great success this year, with over 350 paddlers of all abilities, taking to the water early on Saturday morning. SUPboarder team rider Peter Kosinski was there taking part and here he gives us a rundown of the event and his performance. Kayak Fishing The Freeze YakAngler - The two-day unseasonably warm spell ended today! The air temperatures dropped from 45°F at 8am to the upper 30s in a few hours while we fished! Overcast and cold, drizzling rain were the order of the day. A couple times I swear the rain turned to sleet in the afternoon. Don'T Get Lost Location Technology for Paddlers Rob Casey - Around 2004ish, I was on a multi day sea kayaking trip in the Broughton Archipelago north of Vancouver BC with friend Steve Worchester. On our last day, we woke up to pea soup fog. Our paddle back to Telegraph Cove would be through a section of many tiny islets and small islands with a few knots of current flowing past. Mauritius Sup Challenge with Olivia Piana & Raf Filippi Fanatic SUP - The 2nd edition of the Mauritius SUP Challenge taking place last weekend on December 7th and 8th with Fanatic riders Olivia Piana & Raf Filippi was a huge success. Originating from the tropical coastlines of Hawaii and Polynesia, SUP has found its way inland onto lakes and rivers and finally to the masses. Deer Camp 2013 Ten Days in Hell The Lake is the Boss - Every year when I head for what I refer to as my week in the 19th century at the deer camp, people marvel that we can survive without electricity, plumbing, or central heat. Functional Paddling with Tiago Silva SUPboarder - Functional Paddling was founded in 2012 by Tiago Silva a SUP Instructor and Exercise Physiologist from Portugal. He created a SUP Conditioning program because of the huge demand of training methodology for SUP Racing. His SUP conditioning program combines water and on land training. Haley Mills SUP Magazine - Five years ago, Haley Mills stood up out of her kayak and entered the SUP scene full force. A rookie to the sport, but not to the water, the 28-year-old began a dominant streak in whitewater SUP.
