Save The Conwy ~ Dagger Nomad 8.5 ~ Life After Shoulder Surgery

Playak Weekly Digest
The world's top paddling links in week 50, 2013.
Palm Blogs Save The Conwy
Palm Blogs - Paddlers travel from far and wide to paddle The Glen – here's American paddling god Erik Boomer being shown the lines by local hero Tom McLay and Devon's Tom Rainey.
Dagger Blogs Dagger Nomad 8.5
Dagger Blogs - I have had the chance to paddle many different boats since I started kayaking in the summer of 2003. Up until this fall I have focused mostly on play boating and running class II-III rivers. I knew it was time to step it up when I tried out my friends Nomad 8.5 in the spring of 2013 and everything just felt right.
Werner Werner Paddles Athlete Chris Gragtmans From The 2013 Green Race.
Werner - WernerPaddles had so many things to be thankful for at this years Green Race, held for the 18th season in Saluda, North Carolina. Pat Keller took the win for boys, Katrina Van Wijk and Adriene Levknecht went 1-2 in girls and so many other of our team and extended family members paddled in the race.
Jackson Kayak Life After Shoulder Surgery
Jackson Kayak - Every kayaker has either said or heard the preach "look after your shoulders!" but no one truly realizes how important it is until the damage is done. Even if you think your shoulders are strong or even bulletproof, damage is done so easy.
Exploring Elements Pacsafe Carrysafe 150 Sling Camera Strap
Exploring Elements - slash proof strap, easy tripod screw attachment, secondary retention camera attachment, 360 degree rotating camera lug, free moving slider on strap, ergo shoulder pad, built-in storage on shoulder pad for small camera accessories.
SquareRock 9 to 5 on the Nile
SquareRock - It's been nearly a year since we moved to Uganda, and the White Nile, on a more permanent basis. I should imagine most people would think this means we're lapping up cold Club beers, relaxing under stunning African sunsets and hitting Nile Special wave very day. This isn't really the case.
unsponsored Let Everything Go
unsponsored - That sensation, that thrill you feel when about to go over the edge. A sensation sought and found by a select few, who scale the vast and turbulent waters of the world in tiny boats, at one with the rivers they travel, being able to see a version of the water that the rest of us never can.
Jackson Kayak Brothers At Big Falls in The Karma
Jackson Kayak - Over a decade ago when I was just out of high school I was really starting to come into my own as a paddler. As I was growing stronger, I was finally starting to feel I had the ability to paddle more challenging drops.
Jackson Kayak How to- Superfishal Customization
Jackson Kayak - I love sight-fishing from my SUP. The stability makes standing to cast, pole, or paddle so very easy. However, at 220 lbs, I thought that it needed a little tweaking. The rear set of side handles work great for strapping down a cooler seat, but when I used that position, the trim wasn't what I wanted.
unsponsored Threewaves Nose Clips Available in The Uk & Ireland
unsponsored - Threewaves Nose Clips are now available in the UK & Ireland via Unsponsored. I was so impressed by the quality and performance of the nose clips that I have brought a few pairs back to the Unsponsored HQ here in the UK.
Adventurous Experiences Kayak Safety Training
Adventurous Experiences -  Last night's Indoor Pool Kayak Safety training course continued on from last week, with predominantly 1:1 coaching, except where working in pairs was very useful Really focused effort from everyone. It's a pleasure to look around and observe the structured learning, individual progression, and a sense of general calm.
Jackson Kayak Mining The Ashlu
Jackson Kayak - The Ashlu river hit headlines a few years ago as it saw hydro power development. Upstream of all the hoopla, the Mine section sits in peace and quiet with natural flows.
Jackson Kayak So You Want to Go to Ecuador
Jackson Kayak - It's that time of year again. When temperatures drop and you begin dreaming of far-off paddling destinations with warm water! If you're thinking of heading south this winter, you should definitely consider Ecuador.
Standup Journal Sup Core Exercise Sequence
Standup Journal - Integrating the body and building a strong core for SUP begins with one key move: plank. Done properly, plank can offer a firm foundation for not only the core, but building back strength, leg strength and upper body strength, all of which are required for efficient paddling.
SUPracer Nautic SUP Paris Crossing race video
SUPracer - Here's the official vid from the 2013 "Nautic SUP Paris Crossing" race, which was won by Leonard Nika and Marie Buchanan on the weekend and saw over 300 paddlers brave the cold for a chance to paddle through the heart of the French capital. Conditions were freezing but the sights were rather spectacular… one for the bucket list maybe?
