Pawistik Warm Winter Paddling, Part 3
Pawistik - An unusual weather pattern settled over the prairies last week. In the wake of the much-hyped "polar vortex" that brought very cold temperatures to much of the USA (i.e. the jet stream pushed cold northern air southward - sounds like "winter"), we had a week of unseasonably warm weather.
YakAngler A Blustery Afternoon of Fishing
YakAngler - January is a very challenging month to get any kayak fishing done but with the recent warmer temperature sand running water through Rock Creek Lake we have not seen any ice lately.
Kayak Yak Gorge in the Fog
Kayak Yak - Louise and I decided to get the paddling season started this morning with a quick little jaunt down in The Gorge. We didn't want to do a long paddle; this was more of a work out the kinks paddle, both in our gear and ourselves. We've been off the water for a few months, and have had a pretty lazy winter so far, so we wanted to go slow and easy the first time out.
Mike Jackson January 26th - Race Rocks
Mike Jackson - Dan, Dennis, George and I gathered at 0730 at Killarney Kayak Base to load up the truck with our 4 kayaks and head out to Pedder Bay. By the time we left Rocky Point we could easily see the lighthouse.

YakAngler In This Year
YakAngler - I'm not much of a writer as some can tell. I don't punctuate properly, or even know how to spell very well. My sentence structure really is deplorable as well. Having said this, I think I am going to try and get on this blog thing at least once a month this year.
