News Watch Headlines Oregon Open Ocean Classic Werner - This past weekend siblings, Alyson and Derek Fromm tore it up at the Oregon Coast for the Oregon Open Ocean Classic. The first day was the Open Ocean race and it was dead calm on the water it was really relaxing and fun, especially since we had the company of four big grey whales.says Alyson. World'S Best Standup Paddlers Descend on Fehmarn Standup Journal - Fehmarn, Germany will be the new host location of this year's Camp David World Cup of SUP, stop number 3 of the 2014 Stand Up World Series and Stop 4 of the European Cup. This $25,000 World Series event will kick off next Friday 18th July, as the World's best descend upon Northern Germany for an event to remember, as the World Series picks back up where it left off in Abu Dhabi back in April. Starboard Wins in Sweden Starboard - Congratulations to the entire Starboard Swedish Team as they dominated the first ever Swedish SUP Championship! The top three podium positions in both the men's sprint and long distance events were on Starboard (Magnus Lindstedt, Martin Backéus, Crille Forsberg), as well, 1st place went to Margareta Engstrom in the Women's sprint and long distance events. Maui To Molokai Connor Baxter Wins 6th Consecutive Year Starboard - Congratulations Connor on your 6th consecutive M2M Championship! Here is a recap from Connor on the event. Kazakhstan whitewater part 2 Palm Blogs - After TEM-TEK river we are slowly moving toward Russia to the Altai mountains. Transport took as whole two days on the routes which quality rather I don't want to mention. H2o Demo Success SUP International - Over 1,000 visitors headed down to Poole Harbour recently as H2O Sports hosted their 8th annual Demo Day. Hosted alongside SUP School Easyriders and BSUPA, the day was a resounding success with visitors taking to the water to experience new water sports, many for the first time. The Showdown Just Signed a Major Tv Deal with Cbs Sports Network; Aims to Push Sup Mainstream SUPracer - While the focus is on Hawaii throughout July thanks to SIC's Downwind Month, the spotlight will continue to shine on the Islands deep into next month courtesy of one major event. PNW Winter Synopsis Mt. Hood H2O - Eric Adsit made a synopsis in numbers of this year in kayaking around the PNW.  Matt and I get a mention for a trip to Eagle Creek earlier this year.   Check out the other neat accomplishments in his article. Kailua Sailboards & Kayaks Inc. Riviera Paddlesurf - We began as a windsurfing company in the early eighties but more and more have been shifting to kayaks and other more accessible sports. The first time I hear about SUPs I thought they were too specialized but as Is now evident, I was very wrong. We now have around 40 Stand Up Paddle boards in our rental fleet. Ditch Pickle Classic and Google Earth Jackson Kayak - I'm not a competitive angler meaning I don't fish a lot of tournaments. In fact, at this point in time I only fish one a year. The Ditch Pickle Classic. Quest for THE shark- world record attempt part 1 Jackson Kayak - The biggest fish to have been caught from a kayak was a salmon shark of an estimated 500lbs. The shark was caught outside of Alaska and was shot by the captain of an assisting boat prior to the landing. There are also rumors of fish of a similar size being landed but without photo proof. Falling Behind Frogma - Oh, gosh, I need about a week of really crummy weather to catch up here. I was, as I mentioned, holding back to keep the City of Water Day post on top that event went very nicely and at least one person came due to my social media efforts always fun to meet somebody you've been Facebook friends with for a long time!), but now I'm feeling seriously backlogged backblogged. Runswick Bay Kayak Match Jackson Kayak - The Runswick Bay annual Kayak Festival and competition is one of my favourite events here in the Uk, it's a well organised and well run event and always has a great turnout. This year was no exception, people traveled from all over the country to fish the match. Do One Thing Every Day That Scares You Lina Augaitis - This past weekend I got the amazing opportunity to get to the Kootenays for the second of the BC SUP CUP races but more importantly to experience something very new to me. I was excited, and nervous all at the same time. I was excited for the place we were heading, for meeting new people, and for trying something new. Annabel Anderson – The Red Line SUP International - Annabel Anderson it could be said has been bouncing off the rev limiter for most of her life. In her early twenties she found herself in a situation that many people who have hit it too hard for too long find themselves in – physical burnout. Demonstrating that whilst it was not just a mere speedbump, these setbacks can be overcome, for Annabel is of course now one of the most accomplished paddlers on the water.
