This section of the river is a whitewater gem close to Seattle, and American Whitewater has been engaged in the process since the project was proposed in 2011. The race starts with a 3 mile paddle on Fontana Lake that begins at the Tsali Boat Ramp and then circumnavigates Bear Island and back to the Tsali Boat Ramp.
