News Watch Headlines Paddle Woo 2.0 SUP Surfing Video Contest Entries SUP Connect - Paddle Woo has launched its second video contest, Paddle Woo 2.0 where they look to promote and showcase the progression and innovation that SUP surfing has been showcasing lately. The winner of the videos series will claim a nice check of $3K and the videos submitted thus far are exceptional, it will be hard to tell who will be the winner. Check out the judging criteria as well as the entries in the videos below. Australian all-rounder Jamie Mitchell to compete in the Ultimate Waterman The Ultimate Waterman - Australian Jamie Mitchell will line-up against the world's best watermen in a quest to win the 2016 Ultimate Waterman title, it was announced today. Mitchell will join eight other athletes from around the world, including fellow countryman and waterman Mark Visser, in New Zealand from the 12-20 March, 2016. They'll compete in eight surf disciplines to decide who is the best overall waterman. Cartersville Riverbassin with Team RiverGoat Jackson Kayak - Northwest Georgia is a river fisherman's paradise. The Coosa and Chattahoochee rivers with their hundreds of tributaries dominate the region. Five species of black bass thrive in these waters. Top 10 Paddles of 2015 Tony Paradise - There was a report of an iceberg in Torbay so on May 3rd Clyde, Dean, Hazen and I met in Middle Cove to put in for the short paddle to Torbay and the iceberg.  There was a nice swell running in from the north which made for an entertaining ride. Christmas Paddle in the Weeki Wachee river Atlantic Paddle Surfing - My brother, nice and I enjoyed our Christmas paddle in the Weeki Wachee river. A friendly Manatee hung with us for awhile as we floated down current in the clear spring water. Riviera'S Epic End of Year Highlights Reel SUPracer - Stop whatever you're doing and check out this rather epic 2015 highlights reel from the Riviera Paddlesurf crew. There have been hundreds of great stand up paddling videos thrown down this year, but this has surely gotta be one of the best. Lonnie Bedwell, Timmy O'Neil, and Eric Jackson on the Zambezi Jackson Kayak - Learning to see better through the vision of a blind man It can be said that you don't have to go somewhere new to do something new. I have been to the Zambezi River quite a few times over the past 18 years. Immersion Research K2 Union Suit Alder Creek Kayak - Let me just say that comfort is pretty darn important for anything, and the Immersion Research K2 Union Suit is my new favorite base layer for paddling. Sure, I wore it like pajamas the day I got it, but it's even better on the water than on the couch. SF McKenzie - French Pete to Slide Creek (OR) Nathan Pfeifer - The South Fork of the McKenzie (above Cougar Reservoir) is one of those runs that has always seemed to allude me. Although it's not an extremely common run, it does have a brief write-up in the local guidebook and I've had multiple boaters tell me that it was well worth doing, especially when other local runs are a bit high. Riviera Paddlesurf's End of Year Wrap-Up SUP Examiner - Riviera Paddlesurf The holiday season is traditionally the time of year when brands across the SUP community kick out their year in review edits. Riviera Paddlesurf has been pumping out tons of great video edits throughout the year and their 2015 Year End Wrap-Up may be their best work yet. Recovering from injury SUP for the Soul - I slammed on my brakes, gripped my handlebars as tight as I could, and closed my eyes. The next thing I remember is hitting the asphalt with my body, followed by my head which bounced once before coming to a rest. I was still on my bike. December's Newsletter Mark Tozer - Here in Northern California the ran has been falling, which is great, because we certainly need it. On top of that, the wind has been howling, which has made it really nice to curl up indoors and work on our 2016 schedule, which is filling fast. JPC Winter Race Series – Round 4 Review SUPboarder - While the rest of the UK still struggles with the weather the paddlers on Jersey are still racing with the fourth round of their winter race series held over the weekend. With Christmas just around the corner numbers were slightly down but enthusiasm and fun were still way high. The course was the same as race 3 due to exact same conditions. Fall Paddling in Sarasota SURFit - The weather has been so beautiful for paddling lately.  Glassy water and cooler temperatures has made it such a joy to be out on the water. We had some great paddles last week with lots of manatees and great conditions.
