Kokatat Blog: Australian National Championships The Australian National Championships were held at the Penrith Whitewater Stadium this weekend and what a weekend it was. It was run in conjunction with the Penrith Whitewater Stadiums 10th anniversary celebrations which included free recreational paddling, jumping castle, demonstrations by the State Emergency Service, National Talent Scouting by the Australian Institute of Sport for Slalom Kayaking, free kayak instruction all day plus a whole lot more.

Wavesport Blogs: 2009 Halloween Truss Paddle Every year on October 31, there is a Halloween Paddle that takes place on the Truss section of the White Salmon River. This year, we had about twelve paddlers on the river in all sorts of costumes: Powerpuff Girl, Butterfly, Grimm Reaper, Wonder Woman, Elvis, the Devil, and many more.

adidas Sickline: The "Concentration de l'Agout" The Agout is normally dry, but thanks to EDF they released the water from the dam for the event, which is only two days per year. Along with the concentration, which counted nearly 400 paddlers, a regional free kayak tour was taking place at the Macarel spot, just at the beginning of the section below the Ponviel dam.

ACA: Green Paddle for Waterway Conservation Award ACA Recognizes Elmer Eddy & the Stewards of the White Oak River Basin for Outstanding Work in Waterways Conservation.

ACA: Sanctioned Event of the Year Nominated by ACA members and paddlesport event participants, the award recognizes the top ACA-sanctioned event in the country, considering elements such as participation, event organization, professionalism, competitive aspects, and alignment with ACA's motto of "Education, Recreation, Stewardship and Competition."

SW Sea Kayaking: Scottish Canoe Associations We've just returned from a week north of the border. Firstly we visited the Scottish Canoe Assocation's annual Show, 'Paddle '09′. I met up with various folk and delivered a talk on recent overseas whitewater expeditions.

ACA: Stroke of Acheivement Award Celebrating 130 years as a nonprofit, member-supported canoeing and kayaking organization, the American Canoe Association this week recognized the remarkable work of the Canoe Club of Greater Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, awarding it ACA's "Stroke of Achievement."
