Dave Hoffman: When waterfall scouting goes wrong… I've been looking at one particular waterfall for about a year now. Part of it looks fantastic and part of it looks significantly less fantastic. Getting there involves a remote hike and rappel into a steep, narrow gorge. Loose rock abounds. Last week, on my way out of the gorge, as I was ascending a rope, I knocked a rock loose. It hit my hand and fun ensued.

Shane's Logic: The Green Race Once again the Green Race comes and once again I am blown away by how cool it is. Just think, a thousand people walked in more than an hour to watch a 130 or so paddlers giver a go for almost no prizes, no money, no chics, and very very little fame.

Am. Whitewater: Bear River, California, Flows November 14 and November 15, 2009 American Whitewater is partnering with Nevada Irrigation District (NID) and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to identify a preferred range of whitewater boating flows on numerous reaches in the Yuba and Bear watersheds. Information obtained from surveys completed by boaters will help us identify flow preferences for whitewater boating.

Fluid Blog: Natalie Kramer joins Team Fluid North America I have been greatly impressed with how the fluid boats paddle, especially the medium solo. I love paddling through tight, technical and gorges which never fail to astound me in their beauty. I also really enjoy big wave surfing and the mad air that comes with it.

Kokatat Blog: What About Blue Expedition Their source to sea kayak campaign raised money and awareness for water issues worldwide. The expedition took 102 days as they traveled 2,271 miles down the world's 4th largest watershed.

Valentin Grollemund: Pau - Slalom races The last weekend I was in Pau for 2 slalom races. On saturday it was an easy race especially for the kids on the "warming up course" and on sunday the race took place on the official slalom course.

Werner: Mauli Ola Foundation Creating Stoke for Kids with CF Mauli Ola Foundation take kids with cystic fibrosis surfing. It turns out that the saline in the ocean air has huge benefits and act as a natural therapy for kids suffering from this disorder.

Whitewater Journal: /issue/6/year/2009/ AW promotes paddling safely, publishes reports on whitewater accidents, maintains a uniform national ranking system for whitewater rivers (the International Scale of Whitewater Difficulty) and publishes and disseminates the internationallyrecognized American Whitewater Safety Code.

Sea-Boo-Photos: Beautiful November Day Mississippi so this would be the first moving water. Armed with my three favorite open boaters as friendly instructors I warmed up on the flats above the rapids.

Kokatat Blog: Kayakers Cross Antarctic Land and Water For 80 days starting this month, Chilean kayakers and explorers Cristian Donoso and Mario Sepúlveda will attempt to complete a journey of 994 miles (1600 km), following a maritime and terrestrial route from the coast to the highest summits of the Antarctic Andes.
