I've been looking at one particular waterfall for about a year now. Part of it looks fantastic and part of it looks significantly less fantastic. Getting there involves a remote hike and rappel into a steep, narrow gorge. Loose rock abounds. Last week, on my way out of the gorge, as I was ascending a rope, I knocked a rock loose. It hit my hand and fun ensued.

Once again the Green Race comes and once again I am blown away by how cool it is. Just think, a thousand people walked in more than an hour to watch a 130 or so paddlers giver a go for almost no prizes, no money, no chics, and very very little fame.

American Whitewater is partnering with Nevada Irrigation District (NID) and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to identify a preferred range of whitewater boating flows on numerous reaches in the Yuba and Bear watersheds. Information obtained from surveys completed by boaters will help us identify flow preferences for whitewater boating.

I have been greatly impressed with how the fluid boats paddle, especially the medium solo. I love paddling through tight, technical and gorges which never fail to astound me in their beauty. I also really enjoy big wave surfing and the mad air that comes with it.
