Playak News Flash 2010-02-13

Playak Weekly Digest - February 13, 2010
Playak Tuesday 9th - Playak: Playspot, Germany: Listrup Wave
The wave itself is about one to barely two meters high, depending on the waterlevel. It is always breaking, and can get quite sticky and a bit nasty. It is not very fast but most modern moves can be done here. On surfer's left is a green shoulder to go for big blunts.
Eric Jackson Thursday 11th - Eric Jackson: Villain Prototyping Finished
Thanks to the hard work of David Knight, and the input of team paddlers from all over the globe, as well as dealers, schools, and comparing to all existing designs, we turned over every rock, and boofed over, spun on, eddied out behind, and butted up to every other rock.
Mike Dawson Monday 8th - Mike Dawson: Boat recover
We flew about 20min bomb paddling above the slip and shot down there quickly, and grabbed the boats and everything else left in the bush and chilled for dando. The boats got dragged upstream and we got them from his place a few hours later.
Immersion Research Monday 8th - Immersion Research: Chile Update
Currently there is a record number of whitewater kayakers in the Pucon area. Some first descents and a lot of young kayakers really pushing the envelope.
Jackson Kayak Monday 8th - Jackson Kayak: El Toro Falls
This is the top drop of the Micos. It is about 60+ feet, i had an ok line. I landed on my head but i stayed in my boat.
AS Watersports Sunday 7th - AS Watersports: Pyranha Molan M now available
Pyranhas latest, most prototyped and tested playboat. The Molan is definitely from the new school wave orientated design school.
Immersion Research Tuesday 9th - Immersion Research: Pyranha Promo Trailer
Enjoy the short teaser of Pyranha Promo Trailer.
LVM TV Sunday 7th - LVM TV: Timely Golden Stroke
Well, John and Chelsea aren't here so I'm going kayaking. Adam Goshorn somehow knew this with his psychic powers and sent in some 200% Green photo's to get me scared. I hope my lines look like these.
Freestyle Kayaking & Expeditions Tuesday 9th - Freestyle Kayaking & Expeditions: Costa Rica
From Quepos we moved to Turialba, the whitewater center of Costa Rica. We stayed here for more than one week running Rio Reventazon, Pacuare and Sucio. We had quite low water levels, but it was still fun. We liked especially Peralta section of Reventazon and upper Pacuare.
Fraser Valley WW Sunday 7th - Fraser Valley WW: Boat Review: Dagger Mamba
Dagger's Mamba series of kayaks have generally been classified as river runners. Although I spent some time in the Mamba when I was learning to paddle I always felt "river runners" were a compromise, or half of two boats.
Evan Garcia Thursday 11th - Evan Garcia: Pre-Tour de Stout rally...
Salto de Mariman is one of the biggest rapids that is rarely run on the main raft section in Pucon.
adidas Sickline Wednesday 10th - adidas Sickline: Stefun's awesome year's end
The green was perfect but the hole was so close to it, fat and dangerous!!!! Then we went to La Scie and there we found a perfect water level for a nice session on that wave with the Marmak team, Valentin Corote, Boulox and Kiki.
PaddleBlogs Tuesday 9th - PaddleBlogs: Fluid Detox in Swaziland
A video of the Fluid Detox prototypes being tested in Swaziland, by Andrew Pollock.
Immersion Research Monday 8th - Immersion Research: Cody Howard Checks In
Cody recently wrapped up shooting some first descents for a TV series in Hawaii and is likely not so happy to be back to reality in good 'ol AZ after soaking up the sun in paradise for a few weeks!
Jordan Searle Thursday 11th - Jordan Searle: Two Day Whitcombe - Steep, Scenic and an outright Stellar trip
The Upper Whitcombe has been infamous in my mind since reading its description in Graham Charles White-Water Guide to New Zealand during my early paddling days. Remote, gradient up to 100m per km and the power of a river apposed to a creek were and still are things that played on my mind.
