New River Academy An Exceptional Review of the Project X From a Mediocre Paddler
New River Academy - It was a little over a year ago now that I learned that Wavesport was working on a new boat to compete with newer models like the Jackson All-Star and Pyranha's Molan. Then around the time of Gauley fest, we were given the first video of the new boat. At the time I was paddling a 2010 All-Star and my first impression of the new project was that it seemed very similar to the All-Star, maybe a little easier to cartwheel and a bit faster on a wave but otherwise not too much different then my Jackson. At this point I had been pretty good friends with a few of the wavesport guys, specifically Bryan Kirk, who I saw frequently on the New and Gauley rivers every year.
Wavesport Blogs Gauley Training in the Project X
Wavesport Blogs - So it's this time of the year again....cold temps, not a whole lot of water, and a handful of small playspots. I've found the ultimate cure for the winter timer blues - the Project X! This new design has allowed me to look at the low-water Gauley in a whole new light, and I am stoked to get this new boat on the river any chance I can get!
Teva Blog A day at the Geroldsauer Waterfall, Germany
Teva Blog - A short video from a group of very talented and upcoming whitewater paddlers from Germany enjoying their local backyard run after the recent rain storm.
PaddleBlogs Kayaker Andrew Pollock: I'm back
PaddleBlogs - Ok so i realize its been quite a long time since my last blog update. Anyways i have some news and here it is. I got a call from fellow team fluid paddler Will Clark in early Jan saying he was going to be in South Africa for about a week and was looking for something to do. Luckyly we had had a lot of rain all over the country so the water was up and there was good paddling to be done.

LiquidLore Statlu Canyon
LiquidLore - One of the best things about southwest BC - at least for kayakers - is that it rains all winter. Most people cringe and whine when the skies get grey, but for boating it's a blessing. On top of that, rain in the lowlands usually means snow in the mountains - the best of both worlds.
Dagger Blogs Stretching for Paddling Longevity
Dagger Blogs - f you're like me you've heard that stretching is good for you. That it reduces stiffness and helps to prevent injury. But it wasn't until recently, during my training as a yoga teacher, that someone actually explained to me why stretching prevents stiffness and injury. Now that I have some insight into our bodies and how they work I realize that stretching is even more important than I thought. If you want to feel more comfortable in your boat, develop more ease getting in and out of your boat and want to paddle for many years to come read on. Stretching can help and I'll give you some reasons why.
Am. Whitewater Moose River Video Documentary
Am. Whitewater - Check out part II of a documentary on the Moose River in NY and the early role that Whitewater played in protecting this amazing river. With over 25 years since this early success, we're happy to see this story told anew, again.
SW Sea Kayaking Shetland is the best Sea Kayaking destination in the UK
SW Sea Kayaking - There! I've said it. I'll even repeat it: Shetland is the best Sea Kayaking destination in the UK. Now, before you spit in horror and say something like, "Well she obviously hasn't been to (insert your favourite spot here)" and flick past these pages in disgust, please just pause. What is it you like about sea kayaking? What makes you keep on loading that boat onto the car and going down to the sea? Make a quick list…let's see how many of your boxes are ticked, as I give you some flavours of the five weeks I spent exploring the nooks and crannies of Shetland's 900 mile coastline, earlier this year.
