Chicago Area Sea Kayakers Association The Pivot of the Season Chicago River Paddle
Chicago Area Sea Kayakers Association - Wednesday night likely was the coldest night of the 2010-11 winter for Chicago. It followed on the heels of last week's blizzard, reportedly the third largest in Chicago history. Ahead were rising temperatures, steadily lengthening days and a big melt. I felt that the winter season was pivoting to spring.
SeaKayakPhoto.com Darkness stole across the Isles of the Sea
SeaKayakPhoto.com - The entrance of the Cuan Sound can be a bit bouncy as the flood tide jets out into the Firth of Lorn...

Kayak Hot Dogs A New SuperHero flies into Ecuador!
Kayak Hot Dogs - After a whirlwind travel from across the continent JK Team members arrived at our base camp in beautiful Borja. As my driver pulled up with the boyz I noticed a shinny new red SuperHero in the back waiting to be boofed. Marty and Frenchie seemed stoked to get going and the going we would get as our first run on the three day agenda was the Upper Jondachi! After suiting up Frenchie with a new Villain S I grabbed a Villain for myself and we were on our way to the river at the crack of noon.

Jackson Kayak Mission: Arrival
Jackson Kayak - Well it is in my nature to kind of be a bit unorganized.… I have always had my wife to help me make good plans and set a schedule.… I am sitting here early in the morning making plans and feeling pretty good about them.… I will see how they work out but I have to say I am feeling pretty confident so far…
Andraz Krpic Central Java
Andraz Krpic - A few days after my arrival to Central Java I only hardly found some time to write. Oh yes, what am I doing in Indonesia? Well, the story of my arrival here is long and complicated. I wouldn't be I if I wouldn't complicate things a bit though.
worldkayak blogs South Wales- The Middle Tawe
worldkayak blogs - After our blast down the Nant Clydach we headed over to the Swansea Valley to hop on the Middle Tawe from Pen-y-cae to Abercraf. We were met with primo levels and I've heard this run just gets better and better at higher and higher water. It wasn't all pleasantries however as a local angling club had installed a pretty offensive sign at the get in.
SeaKayakPhoto.com The stirring sound of moving water in the Cuan Sound
SeaKayakPhoto.com - It was now three hours after the start of the spring flood tide and our course took us in a dog leg, round the north end of Torsa and into the Cuan Sound. We had told Phil that there might be a little slope (several feet or so) but there would not be any whirlpools (Phil has an unaccountable aversion to whirlpools).
