PaddleBlogs The Seven Sisters on La Riviere Rouge
PaddleBlogs - I work as a guide / instructor for a company called H2O Adventures on La Riviere Rouge. Therefore, I do the following run A LOT!
Dash Point Pirate Belize: Middle Caye
Dash Point Pirate - The next morning after a breakfast of fry jacks, beans, eggs and fruit, Mike oriented us to the nautical chart and showed us the route for the day's trip. We would paddle northeast to Middle Caye, where there was another good patch reef to snorkel around and a ranger station.

Palm Blogs European Whitewater movie mash up
Palm Blogs - Whilst I've been hiding inside from the -26 winter fronts coming through Alberta, I've had a chance to go through bits and pieces white water footage I've been hoarding from some of my favourite places over the last few years.
Kayak Down Under NZ 2010-11 Feb 6th; Day Of Hard Lessons
Kayak Down Under NZ 2010-11 - We awoke in the morning to a typical west coast hazy look, packed up camp, piled in the car, drove back down the river we used to get up to the camp area, and headed north up the rest of ninety mile beach. It was quickly a stunning day as the sun peaked itself over the Giant mountainous sand dunes to the east, built up there by the beating winds of the west coast. These dunes are truly magnificent, just like something out of Laurence of Arabia; some must be close to 500 feet tall, stunning and alien.
duemmstuff Cehyana and TTG
duemmstuff - As promised, I'm posting some kayaking pictures from the past few days. Most pictures were made by Puji Hiryanto and Tirtaseta crew: I was taking care of a video camera :)
Irish WW The Routine [vid]
Irish WW - The routine is a short kayak film that highlights the summer paddling of Irish kayakers abroad created by Seán Mc Ternan. Every summer hundreds of amateur Irish kayakers flock to mainland Europe to get a taste of some big white-water. The routine features footage from the Tara canyon in Montenegro to the steep creeks of Norway. The film aims to show the highlights of summer on the road with nothing to your name except for a kayak.
surfski.info Bouman shows his class in Race Five victory
surfski.info - Durban – Matt Bouman showed his class as he recovered well from an early mishap to cruise to a comfortable victory in Friday evening's Hansa Surfski Challenge, his second in this year's Varsity College Marine Surfski Series.
PaddlingLight Paddling Practice Makes Permanent, but is it Mindful?
PaddlingLight - Mindfulness, mindlessness, practice makes permanent and practice makes automatic are four topics that I've pondered lately. I think how they relate impacts directly on how much enjoyment a paddler experiences. In my experience, I enjoy experiences when I'm feeling the flow versus when my actions become automatic to the point that I don't realize what I did until after it finished. I wonder how instructors can add the flow and mindfulness experience to paddling instruction.
