News Watch Headlines Dagger Announces 2012 Team Line Up Confluence - Dagger has announced its pro team for the 2012 season, celebrating more than two decades since the very first Team Dagger hit the water in the late 80's. Team Dagger athletes will continue the heritage of competing at the highest levels of kayaking, as well as exploring remote rivers of the world and using their unique position in the action sports world to promote activist and philanthropic causes. Bomb Flow Issue Bomb Flow - Jon Turk tells an up close account of his travels during his 1500 mile trek on Ellesmere Island with Erik Boomer. Sognedalsfjord Bike2Boat - Our journey led us to Norway's longest fjord: we took the ferry from Gudvangen to Kaupanger through the 240 kilometer long Sognedalsfjord. 2,5 lazy hours on deck were a more than welcome break from cycling. Ashnola River and Exploratory Kayaking Adam Frey - I haven't been firing up the ol' writing skills as often lately, mainly because I have been doing lots of kayaking, which is not a bad thing. Winter seemed to drag on forever here in South West BC. Watch out for the paddler in the stopper! Rod Swan - We had a new paddler join our group on Saturday, Jason Sanderson. He joined Steve Pierce, Darryl Voss, Eric Minger and Myself for a paddle in the unseasonal white water yesterday. It was raining of course and the rivers are up, unusual for July. 2012 Freestyle Nationals recap worldkayak - We went to the Reno Whitewater Festival last year and gave Jeffery his first taste of freestyle. Although his first love is ocean surf, he soon realized that freestyle was a challenge and a passion all it's own. After several trips to Wenatchee this year and a week at Kelly's Whitewater Park last year, we decided that we would give Nationals a shot. Emily's European Adventure- Competing in my First World Cups: Part 4 Jackson Kayak - As the race was coming up I was getting super excited to see how I would do. Watching the other women paddle I knew that paddling well wasn't going to be the hard part but placing higher then last and possibly making a cut was going to be a challenge. The Big Timber Spiritual Chamber Boofington Heights - Shit has been on fire. Excuse my language here but it's been crazy. Crazy hot, crazy smokey and my local canyon was on fire for about a month. I was camping with the family when lighting struck a nearby ridge and next thing you know the blazing sun is red behind a thick veil ... The Washburn unsponsored - The Washburn is a dam controlled river just north of Leeds near the Thurscross reservoir on the A59 from Harrogate to Skipton. The river itself is both narrow and shallow but does provide ample scope for freestyle paddling. The Washburn has received a massive amount of changes ... Connor Wins the Triple Crown of SUP Overall Elite. Starboard - Congratulations to Starboard's Connor Baxter for winning the Overall Men's Elite Division of the Maui Triple Crown! A tremendous feat considering he missed the first leg of the series due to competing in Chicago for the Stand Up World Series. Federal Decision Could Change West River Am. Whitewater - A decision by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to abandon efforts to restore Atlantic salmon to the Connecticut River basin could change the game for whitewater releases on the West River in Vermont. Platte-A-Palooza Jackson Kayak - I spent the weekend at the Casper Whitewater Park in Casper, Wyoming. The ninth annual Platte-A-Palooza is a great event put on by the Casper Whitewater Club. Robert Grant (Owner of Backcountry Kayak School) was the main organizer of the event. This Event is one to plan into your schedule next year. Video: Fall in the Wall Daniel Patrinellis - Fall in The Wall is a tributary to the South Fork of the Snoqualmie river here in Washington State. Coming right off the pass, the water is cold and fast, and the creek has a very short window during late spring. I was able to meet up with some friends early Saturday morning and got a solid 5 or 6 ... Big Wins for Czech Republic and Australia ICF - The Czech Republic again came out on top on the first day of finals at the 2012 ICF Junior & U23 Canoe Slalom World Championships, winning a medal in almost every event category.
