The world's latest paddling headlines.
SeaKayakPhoto.com It's a hard life rearing cormorant chicks
SeaKayakPhoto.com - It was a beautiful calm June evening and I paddled out to an island, that was teeming with birds. As I got closer, I drifted in the tide to avoid startling the birds. I was rewarded with the noise of the cormorant colony and the fishy smell of their guano. High rocks are favored sites for their simple nests of sticks, but the cormorants are under continual harassment by wheeling gulls, that will swoop in and snatch an egg or a chick in the blink of an eye. Despite it all, this pair had raised three chicks, which were now of a size to fend off gulls with their sharp beaks. This was one proud parent.
Jackson Kayak Biggest Loops on Earth? Kelly's Nationals today!
Jackson Kayak - In the middle of an Idaho meadow lies possibly the biggest loop spot on Earth. The Kelly's Whitewater Center features several man-made rapids but the top one is the biggest and baddest and is where we are having the US Freestyle National Championships today.
Ryan Lucas Vancouver Island
Ryan Lucas - With everything been rector high around BC,we decided that our best option would be to head to Vancouver Island.I was pretty stoked to head out to the Island and explore the white water what the Island had to offer. Its always sweet going to new places and not noing what you are in for, ...
Jackson Kayak The Fun Is 4 Fun, ...
Jackson Kayak - Weird Title, missed the Fun 1.5 in it, but with six sizes of this model, the most in any model in history, everyone can have Fun. Watching the Kellogg Kids in their Fun 1′s reminds me of when I got Dane paddling in his Fun1 and with another guy here at KWP paddling his 4 Fun around and surfing, squirting, and learning to play boat and river run I figured I should put a shout out to this game changing kayak.
A whole bunch of Ing's Little Bell Island
A whole bunch of Ing's - Seven days of an interesting human existence. Sickness that I cannot compare with recent memory. By the viruses end I was left exhausted and battling a worse illness; cabin fever. Regardless of the weather I had decided to check Little Bell Island off my map yesterday after a supper of Squid and veggies. Dropped off at Long pond I decided on a circumnavigation of the island and a crossing direct to St. Philips with the wind at my back.
Sydney Surf Ski Sporty's Downwind Dash Mauritius Shamaal
Sydney Surf Ski - There can't possibly be a way through those waves crashing on the reef. This was the shit-scared shared thought Fat Paddler and I had looking at the spectacular ocean view in front of us, with six to ten foot waves crashing in about two feet of water. But Barry Lewin and Dawid Mocke assured us it was easy and that we wouldn't have to paddle through breaking surf at any stage, unless we actually wanted to. What they both had failed to realise was that neither Sean nor I had done any serious downwind paddling ever, and certainly not starting by picking a way through a reef pass.
Pat Kellner Beautiful, Small Independence
Pat Kellner - There are times when catching big fish is the goal. Tournaments, and the likes, place added stress on my fishing. I started fishing to get away, to relax, to enjoy nature and life. I think I have spent too much time focusing on the big picture and forgetting the art in small things.
Drew Gregory Drew Gregory and Jackson Kayak Appearing at ICAST in Orlando July 11-13
Drew Gregory - Gregory and JK making their first ICAST appearance.Professional kayak angler pioneer Drew Gregory and Jackson Kayak founder Eric Jackson will be appearing at ICAST as a part of the Jackson Kayak team. Other team members appearing include Charlie Ingram and Ray Brazier from the popular fishing show Fishing University on the Outdoor.
Astral Currently Fishing with the Sea Wolf
Astral Currently - My name is Mark Patterson and I have been fishing since I was 5 years old. My Grandmother would take me walking through the woods behind her home and after about half an hour we would come to a small pond. I don't know how the small metal boat got there or how long it was there before my Grandmother and started using it but I know one thing my Grandmother made sure of and that was before I got in I had my "life-preserver" on. It was bright orange and to say it was uncomfortable would be an understatement.
Sea Kayak Stonington Ironbound and the Porcupines
Sea Kayak Stonington - July third, Bar Harbor. We unload our boats and Nate drives around for awhile to find a parking space while Peter and I get into our drysuits, readying the kayaks. Amid a tour group in tandems and a group of wetsuited stand-up paddleboard students, ...
Jackson Kayak Freedom to Fish
Jackson Kayak - America is awesome and we're reminded of that fact every July 4th. What better way to celebrate our freedom than to go fishing. So Blake and I decided to head down to the marsh and scout out a new area we've never fished. It turned out to be one of those rare holidays when the weather was right to make the run down to the coast.
