News Watch Headlines Tarp set up practice Tony Paradise - Some of Paddle Canada's courses contain what I call "boy scout" stuff like camp set up, assignment of duties in camp etc. Its not something I've paid a lot of attention to before because I'm more interested in the nuts and bolts of paddling. The Mouth of the Connecticut River Sea Kayak Stonington - A common question, as I paddle in southern New England is "Are you fishing, or just sightseeing?" People often seem to be a little baffled about paddling without a fishing rod. I've talked to a few fishermen and they can be a dedicated bunch, just with a different focus from us sightseers. July 26 – 27 Fishing with Nativity Youth Group. Sharks, Redfish, Trout and More Tampa Bay Kayak Charters - I had the pleasure of fishing with Nativity Catholic Church's youth group over the weekend of the 26th while they stayed at the camp grounds in Fort Desoto Park. We fished two days, starting around noon each day. Quebec First Impressions Adam Frey - Well it's been about a month I've lived in Shannon, a small town just outside Quebec City now, and after running out of food, clean clothes and having the garbage pile up enough I figure it's time to take a day off paddling to take care of some things and do some writing. July 22 evening tailing redfish Tampa Bay Kayak Charters - I met Dave on the south shore of Tampa Bay in the later afternoon with hopes of getting on some tailing fish I had been targeting around sunset. We paddled out and were not disappointed as we found the school of fish after a little looking. July 18 – 19 weekend redfish action Tampa Bay Kayak Charters - On Friday morning we started a little after sun rise and fished the last part of the out going tide through the incoming tide. We had to work hard for the bites we got, but we managed some nice over slot redfish and several bonnet head and black tip sharks for our efforts. July 25 Big Over Slot Redfish Schools Fired Up Tampa Bay Kayak Charters - Hooked up the Mitzi Skiff and got out with Ryan to do a little scouting for up coming charters. Fished all around lower Tampa Bay looking for redfish and found several schools before we finally stumbled upon a massive wad of fish, all of which were way over slot and feeding extremely aggressively.
