unsponsored Active Paddle Blade How to Kayak Paddle Education
unsponsored - An active paddle blade is a great way to help you stay upright. By having a blade in the water at all times you can quickly use it to brace or to turn, there is no need to have your paddle just sitting above the water, small pushes and braces will allow you to react to anything that you might encounter.
unsponsored Dewerstone Life Shorts – First Look
unsponsored - These shorts are what kicked off the production of the new Unsponsored Ts by Dewerstone. I had stumbled upon a post about Dewerstone's campaign to raise funds to get the shorts into production via Kickstarter. I had heard/seen a fair bit about Kickstarter but this was the first time that I was motivated to invest.
Jackson Kayak Tuolumne River Lives On
Jackson Kayak - In late July I had the opportunity to paddle my first overnight Tuolumne trip since the Rim fire of 2013. I had heard stories of a burned out canyon, fallen trees, and sediment filled river. I also heard stories of poppy fields in the spring and golden hills in the summer similar to the Tuolumne of old.

Inflatable Kayaks & Packrafts Kayaking the Last of the Summer Isles
Inflatable Kayaks & Packrafts - With the heather turning purple, mushrooms all over the lawn and a chill in the air, I thought it was all over for this season. But this week we've had a reprieve. Sat between isobars so far apart they're in different time zones, today the Summer Isles are getting one final spell of calm, summery conditions.
The Next Horizon Line Upper Cherry the Hard Way
The Next Horizon Line - Sometimes victories earned over extra obstacles are the sweetest; however, in the case of Upper Cherry Creek, the standard version involves an 11 mile hike to the put in, providing plenty of suffering for even the most hardened masochist. Unfortunately, the Rim Fire of 2013 burned large sections of the Stanislaus National Forest, resulting in subsequent closures for the summer of 2014.

Rob Casey Preparing your SUP Paddle for Night Trips
Rob Casey - Here in the Pacific Northwest summer is waning and fall is around the corner. Days are getting shorter and very soon it'll be dark at 5pm. Many of us don't stop paddling just because its colder, we just wear a wetsuit. Shorter days means doing a few night paddles, or in my case as a SUP guide, I offer a bioluminescence night tours through early October.
