Wednesday Training Group SUP Surf - In preparation for the Wet Feet Blue Planet race coming up on Sept. 14th, we will paddle out to Portlock Point again for some more rough water paddling. Touched down in the USA Mike Dawson - A dark and stormy morning caused the sun to rise a little later in Prague ahead of my flight to the USA. We loaded up the caddy and headed to Prague Airport. While unloading kayaks paddles and bags, a downpour of frosty rain drops slowly saturated me ahead of the journey. It was now time to move onwards to warmer climates & better weather before autumn got hold on central Europe. Catalina Outrigger 2014 Quickblade - Jimmy got the band back together last year for the Catalina Outrigger Challenge. The team he had assembled was reminiscent of his winning combo 16 years ago (And it was at that race 16 years ago he met Lizzie and in many ways, Quickblade was born. Pro Am Games at NOC-Fundraising for First Descents! Jackson Kayak - After finishing up with Nationals Championships at Pigeon Point, I headed over to the Nantahala Outdoor Center on the Nantahala River where I volunteered to be a Pro at the World Kayak Pro Am games. It's a competition where a pro is matched up with a few amateur kayakers who are trying to improve while supporting an awesome charity, First Descents, a camp for cancer survivors ages 18-34. Blind Kayakers Begin Grand Challenge Canoe Kayak - Blind adventurer Erik Weihenmayer is at Lee's Ferry this morning, preparing to begin the challenge of a lifetime: Kayaking the Grand Canyon, top to bottom. Best known for becoming the first blind person to scale Mount Everest, Weihenmayer has now set his sights on what, for him, is an even more daunting challenge. This year, the event was held at the well-known kayak course in Danube, Cunovo near the beautiful capital of Slovakia – Bratislava. Team SIC Goes To The Gorge SUPracer - As always it's a very nice little production and features the team's host of stars including Georges Cronsteadt, Livio Menelau, Scott Trudon, Andrea Moller, Devin Blish, Sonni Honscheid and Lina Augaitis yes, SIC had quite the entourage up in Oregon.
