Sportscene Yoga for Kayakers with Adriene Levknecht - Part III
Sportscene - Part 3 of my yoga blog is going to consist more of the core workout and the arm balance aspect of my power yoga practice. This is the part of yoga that really strengthens my core and stabilises my shoulders for strong paddling while on the water. It is also my favorite part of yoga because of how challenging it is!
Misc. Huffington Psst: Kayaking is the only real sport :)
Misc. - Despite longstanding consensus that a number of non-kayaking activities qualified as sports, athletic experts now tell us that this notion is false. "At first glance it seems like there are a lot of sports," said former NFL head coach Bill Clancy, "but when you look closer, everything is either not a sport or kayaking."
Distressed Mullet Live Mic at the Carolina Beach SUP Challenge
Distressed Mullet - I think I accidentally said sh*t after the racers started and I stood too close to the speaker and got feedback. But, out of maybe 24 hours of being on the mic that is the first time I slipped up all year. I blame my lack of unsweet iced tea in the morning.
Palm Blogs Ballan Bonanza
Palm Blogs - One thing or another had kept me off the water for the last few weeks; onshore winds, family bereavements and work commitments to name but a few. I returned to County Galway to put that to rights. I intended to go out to fish for ray and tope but as (bad) luck would have it I realised that I had forgotten my anchor when I was out on the water. Palm Blogs European Championships 2014, Bratislava
Palm Blogs - The freestyle Kayaking Euro Championships were held in Slovakia. Everybody knows the whitewater course in Cunovo as it's one of the best slalom courses in Europe, but not all know there is a decent hole on the second channel. It is not a big one, in fact you can even miss it, if you don't know the exact place, it is a bit flat and a bit shallow, but you can throw very high scoring rides in there. SUP Magazine Making A Board with Shaper Studios
SUP Magazine - Any paddler would jump at the chance to shape their own board. But the barriers are significant: costs, tools, workspace and of course, time. I'd wanted to shape a board for years but like most of you, lacked the resources. Then I met Christopher Clark, co-founder of Shaper Studios.
WWTCC When Men Were Men.
WWTCC - The sport's safety ethic was omnipresent and weighed heavily. It was not considered heroic to take on river risks, it was simply unacceptable. Do you seek the mountain high, or just another way to die?
