The most recent park I completed is a really cool project in Montrose, Colorado on the Uncompahgre River. After weeks of rumours and speculation, SUP the Mag just announced they'll be hosting the inaugural Pacific Paddle Games at Doheny State Beach, California on October 10th and 11th, aka the original dates (and the original home) of the BOP. For me, paddlesports is all about kayaking, whitewater or sea. Kayaks just seem more suited to the terrain, more streamlined, more moveable and stable in whitewater. Eight years ago I worked a season on the Ardeche River in France; open canoe was the obvious craft because I had to carry my share of food for sixty kids. Golden Games with Kady Kokatat Blog - I competed in all the kayaking events which included the boater X, the freestyle and the screaming ¼ mile creek race! I also did the SUP freestyle. Golden's Clear Creek Whitewater Park had a lot more flow than it did last year, which meant the features were much better. We were all able to plug for Loops and Space Godzillas! The freestyle kayaking competition was a lot of fun. I competed in the junior women's division against three other girls and placed 2nd with a fairly decent ride.
